Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and implement workplace safety and health programs in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Assist in risk assessments and the development of safe work procedures.
- Monitor compliance with WSH regulations, company safety policies, and permit-to-work systems.
- Organize and conduct safety inductions, toolbox meetings, and safety training programs.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare reports with recommendations for preventive measures.
- Maintain safety records, permits, inspection reports, and other WSH documentation.
- Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, clients, and regulatory authorities on safety-related matters.
- Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills and response planning.
- Promote a positive safety culture and encourage employee participation in safety initiatives.
- Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure adequate safety resources are available.
- Assist management in achieving WSH performance targets and continuous improvement objectives.
Requirements:
- Diploma, Higher NITEC, or equivalent qualification in Workplace Safety and Health, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- Certified Workplace Safety and Health Coordinator (WSHC) qualification recognized by the relevant authority.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in workplace safety and health coordination, preferably in construction, manufacturing, marine, or related industries.
- Good knowledge of workplace safety regulations, risk management, and incident investigation procedures.
- Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and permit-to-work systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct safety briefings and training sessions effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and report preparation.
- Strong observation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
- Possession of additional safety certifications will be an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site and travel between project locations when required.
