ROLE OVERVIEW

In the role of Associate Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for the following:

• Work directly with senior legal colleagues and other business partners to support the growth of the business across various asset classes and jurisdictions within Asia
• Assist with the negotiation of trading documentation with trading counterparties and prime brokers
• Assist on fund related matters such as structuring and fund documentation
• Support general corporate matters in Asia, including corporate secretarial matters such as board and shareholder meetings, and statutory returns
• Coordinate AML/KYC onboarding with Asia-based trading counterparties

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• LLB with minimum 3 years’ PQE
• Qualified in a common law jurisdiction
• Prior experience in financial services, particularly asset management, is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and in a highly collaborative environment, with good judgment regarding when to elevate issues
• The Associate Legal Counsel will support BAM's business and investments in Asia, including but not limited to, China and Hong Kong. Therefore, the ability to review and draft documents in Chinese and communicate in Mandarin is a plus

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field

• At least 1 year of relevant experience

• At least 1 year of working experience in Singapore preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Project and AutoCAD
