The Climate Transformation Programme (CTP) aims to develop, inspire and accelerate knowledge-based solutions and educate future leaders to establish the stable climate and environment necessary for resilient, just, and sustainable Southeast Asian societies.

CTP will generate knowledge and innovation across disciplines including climate and Earth science, ecology, materials science, artificial intelligence, humanities, social sciences and the arts, finance, health, and engineering. It will also translate state-of-the-art scientific results into real world solutions for Singapore, and it will transfer these solutions to Southeast Asia (SEA) and beyond.

As part of this programme, Cluster 5 Climate and finance markets will measure and price climate risk in financial markets, design innovative risk financing solutions to climate change, and quantify economic impact of climate policies.

The Research Fellow will be based in the Nanyang Business School and will contribute to interdisciplinary research under Cluster 5, with a particular emphasis on empirical analysis, AI-enabled data construction, and policy-relevant research outputs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute empirical research projects related to climate risk, financial markets, and climate policy, in alignment with the objectives of Cluster 5: Climate and Finance Markets under the Climate Transformation Programme.

• Construct, clean, and analyze large-scale datasets combining financial, environmental, and policy information, including both structured and unstructured data sources.

• Apply artificial intelligence and large language model (LLM) tools to extract, structure, and analyze information from unstructured sources such as corporate disclosures, regulatory filings, policy documents, and project-level reports.

• Develop and maintain retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and related AI-enabled research workflows to support dataset construction, empirical analysis, and evidence synthesis.

• Implement rigorous empirical and quantitative methods to measure and price climate-related risks in financial markets and to assess the economic and financial impacts of climate policies.

• Contribute to the preparation of academic manuscripts for submission to leading peer-reviewed journals, as well as policy-oriented reports and research outputs.

Roles and Responsibilities

You will support the development and enhancement of mobile and web-based solutions, while gaining hands-on experience across the software development lifecycle. Your responsibilities include:

• Assist in developing, maintaining, and improving existing mobile applications
• Recommend and implement enhancements to improve performance, functionality, and user experience
• Support the delivery of intuitive user interfaces and smooth user experiences
• Participate in software analysis, design, development, testing, and documentation
• Contribute to proof-of-concept development and technical design preparation
• Assist in data modelling and mobile app database management
• Support the installation, configuration, and integration of third-party plug-ins and tools
• Help create and maintain technical documentation
• Learn to develop, customise, and integrate PHP-based web applications within mobile app projects

Job Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL, CakePHP, and Flutter
• Strong interest in IT, mobile applications, and software development
• Willingness to learn and take on hands-on technical tasks
• Able to work collaboratively in a team and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Some experience or exposure to mobile application development for Android and iOS
• Able to commit for at least 4 months
• Hybrid work model: 1 day work-from-home per week

About The Team:

The Agentic Intelligence (AI) team is leading the way in providing top of the line RPA solutions to our clients. Responsibilities:

• Serve in different capacities as business process analyst, RPA developer, support, and trainer across multiple assignments
• Collaborate with customers to define use cases, optimize processes, and redesign or reengineer IT and business operations
• Gather business requirements, design, develop, test, deploy, and document automation workflows
• Create, review, and maintain BRDs, PDDs, and SDDs for business and solution design
• Deliver process automations in onsite and remote client engagements to ensure successful adoption
• Apply RPA implementation best practices to configure efficient, reusable, and maintainable solutions
• Interpret workflow diagrams and conceptualize them into automated solutions
• Create and document test procedures, scenarios, and cases for pre-UAT and UAT phases
• Conduct thorough testing of packages in hosted or supported deployment environments
• Maintain RPA systems and monitor successful execution of automation processes
• Provide L1–L3 support for existing automations, improve documentation, and implement change requests based on incident priority
• Analyze incidents, determine root causes, and resolve issues in robotic processes within SLA parameters
• Ensure accountability for assigned tasks including fixes, enhancements, and support delivery
• Adhere to guidelines for Incident, Problem, and Change Management

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• 1–2 years of practical experience with the UiPath platform; role level will align with the candidate’s proficiency and background
• Strong expertise in analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining application code across diverse contexts
• Ability to interpret and evaluate complex requirements, and define advanced technical and functional solutions
• Hands-on experience with Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) using UiPath Document Understanding preferred; familiarity with other IDP tools (Document Intelligence, Document AI, Staple AI, etc.) is an advantage
• Knowledge of integrating applications via web services/REST APIs, along with experience in RDBMS and open-source databases
• Process-oriented mindset with strong communication, presentation, and articulation skills
• Proven track record in developing automation solutions using UiPath
• Solid experience with software delivery lifecycle methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile
• Prior exposure to automation tools such as Power Automate, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, Kofax Kapow, OpenSpan, Tricentis, or Selenium is beneficial
• Programming experience in C#, VB, .NET, or Python is an added advantage

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and perform end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities, including design, development, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance, and documentation.
• Design, develop, and deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure software applications to meet business and operational requirements.
• Architect and implement robust backend systems, APIs, and microservices using modern frameworks and best practices.
• Manage the installation, configuration, customization, and deployment of enterprise applications, software services, and cloud-based platforms.
• Develop and optimize database schemas, queries, and integrations across multiple database systems.
• Ensure application performance, scalability, reliability, and security through code reviews, testing, and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues in development, testing, and production environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and refine user requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Drive and support DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline implementation, build and release automation, and environment management.
• Work in air-gapped or high-security environments, ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.
• Participate actively in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum), including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical leadership, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of relevant software development experience in enterprise or large-scale systems.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages: Java, JavaScript, SQL.
• Hands-on experience with backend frameworks such as Java Spring Boot and/or .NET / .NET Core.
• Solid experience with database technologies: MongoDB, MSSQL, Oracle (data modeling, performance tuning, query optimization).
• Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Practical knowledge of DevOps tools and collaboration platforms: GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps.
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and deployment models.
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments and scripting (e.g., Shell scripting).
• Knowledge of message queues and streaming platforms such as RabbitMQ or Apache Kafka is an advantage.
• Exposure to Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices and application security principles.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
