Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Academic Manager to lead our academic department. This critical role involves overseeing curriculum development, managing our team of highly qualified teachers, and ensuring the highest standards of educational delivery. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a deep understanding of pedagogy, a passion for curriculum innovation, and a proven ability to inspire and develop teaching staff.
Key Responsibilities:
· Curriculum Development & Oversight:
o Lead the development, review, and enhancement of all course curricula and learning materials to ensure they are current, engaging, and aligned with educational best practices and market needs.
o Oversee the creation and updating of textbooks, lesson plans, and supplementary educational resources.
o Ensure curriculum quality and consistency across all programs and instructors.
· Teacher Management & Development:
o Recruit, select, and onboard new teachers, conducting interviews and assessments to ensure a high caliber of instructional staff.
o Provide ongoing training, professional development, and mentorship to teachers to enhance their pedagogical skills and subject matter expertise.
o Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement performance improvement plans as needed.
o Foster a positive and collaborative environment for the teaching team.
· Academic Quality Assurance:
o Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to maintain high standards in teaching and learning.
o Develop and administer teacher evaluation systems, gathering feedback from students and peers.
o Address any academic concerns or issues promptly and effectively.
· Program Management:
o Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Operations) to align academic offerings with business goals and student demand.
o Contribute to the strategic planning and development of new courses and programs.
o Monitor student academic progress and satisfaction, using feedback to inform improvements.
· Resource Management:
o Manage academic budgets and resources effectively.
o Oversee the selection and implementation of educational technologies and tools.
Qualifications:
· Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in an academic leadership role, such as Head of Department, Curriculum Developer, or Senior Academic Manager, preferably within a course or educational institution.
· Pedagogical Expertise: Deep understanding of learning theories, curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment methods.
· Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, manage, motivate, and develop a team of educators.
· Curriculum Development: Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and implementing educational curricula.
· Recruitment & Evaluation: Experience in teacher recruitment, selection, and performance evaluation processes.
· Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with teachers, staff, and stakeholders.
· Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically about academic program development and long-term educational goals.
· Education: Master's degree or Ph.D. in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field is highly preferred.
