What’s the overall purpose of the job?

This role is responsible for planning, leading and controlling Virgin Active’s sales strategies and activities to achieve revenue, sales and profit targets. As the Sales Manager for one of the clubs in the country, this role is also responsible for managing its day-to-day sales operations. Little opportunities for making people feel good about Virgin Active are lurking everywhere. Regardless of our official positions, we all work in customer service. Classic Virgin service involves striking a balance between working hard to understand the customer and relaxing enough to express our own personality.

How we’ll know you’ve got what it takes…

• Minimum of 5 years sales experience in comparable position or demonstrated progress through Virgin Active leadership pipeline
• Experience in delivering impeccable customer service and responding to feedback and complaints
• Experience in recruiting, developing, motivating, deploying and retaining a high performing team
• Excellent communication (inperson)
• Exceptional customer service
• Knowledge of country level employee relations
• Ability to work to KPI's and achieve and exceed sales targets
• Ability to manage budgets and achieve associated performance targets
• Understanding of health and fitness industry
• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) –intermediate

• Master of Keys: Take charge of the keys and ensure they are safe and sound. After all, you're the key to unlocking our club's success!
• Keep the Communication Flowing: Regularly communicate with the HOD team, updating them on any issues that arise during club operations. Your effective communication skills will keep everyone in the loop, making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
• Be the Fixer: Spot any issues or faults that require a technical fix and report them promptly. Your keen eye will help us maintain top-notch facilities for our members.
• Warm and Welcoming: Ensure all interactions with our members are warm and friendly. Answer queries, handle feedback like a pro, and create an environment that makes everyone feel at home.
• Cleanliness Champion: Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the studios, changerooms, and common areas. A clean and inviting club is essential for creating a positive atmosphere.
• Inventory Guru: Keep a close eye on our stock and conduct regular counts to ensure everything is in order. From equipment to supplies, you'll ensure we never run out of what we need to keep our club buzzing.
• Safety First: Create a safe and healthy environment for our members and team members alike. Your commitment to safety will ensure everyone feels secure and can focus on their fitness journey.

• Provide exceptional service through our gym floor product range including ensuring the gym areas and equipment is maintained and presented as laid out as per brand standards.
• Deliver all products in line with the service level expectations attached to gym floor services and PT sessions combining unique physical experiences through to uplifting mind-body journeys.
• Leverage your personality to create a culture where the community become loyal clientale.
• Embrace feedback and suggestions to improve exercise product delivery.
• Advocate safety and ensure an overall safe environment for members and team members.
• Keep all workouts safe (considering equipment, technique and pre-existing injuries).

A day in the life

• Work to a pre-programmed pattern of cleaning throughout the club.
• Tidy, polish and scrub the bathroom areas to create a spotless and shiny changeroom experience for members.
• Ensure the studios are sparkling before each class by cleaning all equipment (bikes, boxing bags, weights etc) and wiping the mirrors and floor so they’re flawless.
• Assist with the Cleaning and preparation of the equipment required by each member in the gear-up area (boxing gloves, cleats, etc) in line with our customer experience.
• Advocate safety and ensure an overall safe environment for members and team members.
• Report any issues or faults you find that require a technical fix.
• Closely manage all cleaning needs stock and conduct regular stock counts to ensure everything is accounted for and all items are in good state of repair/not expired.
• Ensure all interactions are warm, queries are answered and feedback handled effectively.
• Find ways to give that little bit extra… especially when it’s unexpected.
