Sourcing Manager – Team Lead (Electromechanics)

We are seeking an experienced and driven Sourcing Manager to lead our procurement team, strengthen supplier partnerships, and drive strategic sourcing initiatives. This role is key to ensuring material availability, cost optimisation, and supply chain efficiency to support our business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the sourcing/procurement team to achieve company objectives on cost, quality, and delivery.
• Develop and drive strategic sourcing plans aligned with business and project requirements.
• Partner closely with Sales and Engineering teams on project quotations, BOM costing, and pricing strategies.
• Identify, develop, and qualify new suppliers and materials, especially for electrical component and mechanical parts.
• Drive localisation strategies (e.g., cables, wires, connectors, electrical component and mechanical parts) to optimise cost and lead time.
• Oversee supplier performance management, including KPIs, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead contract negotiations, cost reduction programs, and long-term supplier agreements.
• Manage escalation and resolution of supplier issues related to pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
• Oversee the end-to-end procurement cycle, ensuring compliance with company policies and timely execution.
• Work cross-functionally with Finance, Planning, Warehouse, QA, and Engineering to ensure smooth operations.
• Monitor inventory strategy and stock levels to balance availability and cost efficiency.
• Analyse market trends, supply risks, tariffs, and logistics to provide strategic sourcing insights.
• Mentor and develop team members, ensuring capability building and succession planning.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain, preferably in electrical component and mechanical parts or manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in team leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of electrical component and mechanical parts sourcing, supplier management, and cost analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Good understanding of supply chain risks, market trends, and cost drivers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute sourcing strategies to meet quality, delivery, and cost targets.
• Work closely with Sales on project quotations, BOM costing, and pricing submissions.
• Develop and qualify new materials and suppliers to support business growth.
• Localize key materials (e.g., cables, wires, connectors, components) to improve supply efficiency and reduce lead times.
• Evaluate and manage supplier performance for continuous improvement
• Negotiate supplier contracts and drive cost reduction initiatives.
• Support resolution of supplier issues related to pricing, quality, and delivery.
• Manage the full procurement cycle: raise POs, confirm orders, track deliveries, and monitor inventory.
• Ensure timely availability of materials to support production schedules and customer deliveries.
• Review and manage procurement documents (quotations, invoices, delivery notes).
• Coordinate with Finance, Planning, Warehouse, and QA teams for smooth order execution.
• Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Stay updated on market trends, tariffs, and logistics costs to provide sourcing insights.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
• Proficient in ERP systems & Microsoft Office.
• Solid knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, and supplier negotiations.
• Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
• Able to work cross-functionally with Sales, Planning, and Finance teams.
• Capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Immediate or short-notice availability is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Understand wire colours, lengths and connectors;

2. Strip insulation from wire ends;

3. Assemble wires onto connectors by inserting pins;

4. Solder wires to terminals or components when required;

5. Perform continuity tests using tester;

6. Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards.

7. Report defects, quality, or work efficiency issues to the production leader.

8. Inform maintenance of machine issues.

9. Support production duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Proven hands-on experience in cable harness in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

2. Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings.

3. Skilled in soldering and crimping techniques is a plus.

4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

6. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
