Core Responsibilities:
• Material Requirements Planning (MRP): Utilizing software (BC 365) to calculate exactly what materials are needed and when, based on current production plans.
• Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels and adjusting order sizes or reorder points to prevent both shortages (which stop production) and excess inventory (which ties up capital).
• Data Accuracy: Maintaining the "Master Data" in the system, which includes ensuring that Bills of Materials (BOM) accurately reflect the parts needed for a specific product.
• Review & analysis Sales orders entry, acceptable lead time [min 12wks for SLT order] & review spotbuy list for buyers
• Cross-Functional Liaison: Acting as a bridge between the Production team (to understand schedules), the Purchasing team (to buy parts), and the Warehouse (to track physical stock).
Requirements
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), advanced Excel skills, and understanding of manufacturing processes.
Strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to solve problems quickly under pressure (e.g., handling a late supplier).
Typically a bachelor's degree or dipolma in Supply Chain Management and Logistics.
Industry-standard certifications like the APICS CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) are highly valued.
