Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and implement standards development projects under the National Standardisation Programme administered by Enterprise Singapore.

• Provide secretariat support to Technical Committees and Working Groups, including preparation of meeting agendas, minutes, reports and drafting of standards.

• Engage and coordinate with industry, academia and government agencies to facilitate the development, promotion and review of Singapore Standards and Technical References.

• Organise standards launch events and outreach activities to promote adoption and awareness of standards.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and develop new standards, including conducting consultations to ensure alignment with industry needs.

• Support industry and technical research for the development and review of standards, including conducting verification studies to identify potential users of the standards.

• Manage and respond to enquiries related to standards within the assigned portfolio in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Precision Engineering or Workplace Safety and Health.

• Preferably at least three (3) years of relevant work experience in manufacturing, engineering or safety related fields.

• Secretariat experience supporting committees or working groups will be advantageous.

• Results oriented with the ability to manage and execute projects both independently and as part of a team.

• Meticulous and well organised, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment and manage time efficiently in fast paced settings.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

• Good writing and communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other productivity tools.

The Assistant Manager, Membership & Industry Groups plays a key role in growing SMF’s membership base and strengthening member retention. This role is responsible for actively acquiring new members, engaging existing members, and converting engagement into renewals, while supporting Industry Groups as a channel for sustained member value and relevance.

Key Responsibilities

Membership Acquisition & Growth (Primary Focus)

·       Proactively recruit new members through targeted outreach, partnerships and campaigns

·       Develop and execute membership acquisition strategies, including lead generation, prospect conversion and follow‑ups.

·       Identify and pursue new membership channels, including referrals, events, collaborations and sector‑focused opportunities.

·       Work closely with internal teams to package and articulate SMF’s membership value proposition clearly to prospective members.

Membership Retention & Engagement (Primary Focus)

·       Drive retention and renewal of existing members through structured engagement, regular touchpoints and needs‑based follow‑ups.

·       Analyze membership data to identify at‑risk members, renewal trends, and opportunities to improve retention rates.

·       Develop and implement member engagement initiatives, value-added programmes and benefits that directly address members’ business needs.

Industry Group (IG) & Programme Enablement (Supporting Focus)

·       Support Industry Groups as engagement platforms to deliver relevance and value to members.

·       Collaborate with IG Committee members to ensure programmes and activities are aligned with member needs, sector priorities and SMF’s framework.

·       Organize and manage IG‑related meetings, events and workgroups to enhance member participation and satisfaction, not just execution.

Other Responsibilities

·       Be flexible and willing to take on additional tasks assigned by management to support SMF’s strategic objectives, particularly those related to membership development and sustainability.

Requirements

·       Minimum Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Engineering or related disciplines.

·       Proven experience in membership development, business development, sales, or client relationship management.

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence members and stakeholders.

·       Demonstrated ability to acquire, engage and retain clients or members.

·       Strong organizational, analytical and time‑management skills.

Experience in event or programme planning is an advantage, particularly where used as a member‑engagement tool.

Role Overview
Drive workforce capability development in advanced manufacturing by shaping training strategies, evaluating course effectiveness, identifying industry needs and gaps, and building strong partnerships with training providers and institutions.

Key Responsibilities

·       Lead the review and enhancement of training programmes to ensure alignment with evolving industry needs, emerging technologies, and best practices in areas such as Industry 4.0, AI, and sustainable manufacturing

·       Identify skills gaps and emerging training demand by analysing industry trends and mapping of the training landscape across sectors

·       Facilitate the development and continuous improvement of new or customised training programmes in collaboration with IHLs and training providers

·       Establish and manage partnerships to expand the reach, adoption, and impact of training

Requirements

·       Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field; Fresh graduates with a strong passion for workforce capability development are encouraged to apply

·       Good understanding of Singapore’s workforce training ecosystem and Skills Framework (SSG)

·       Knowledge and skills in training programme development, curriculum design, or workforce capability building

·       Familiarity with advanced manufacturing domains (e.g. digitalisation, AI, smart manufacturing, sustainability); Knowledge and practical skills in AI tools (e.g. data analytics, automation, generative AI) will be an added advantage.

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate industry needs into impactful programmes

·       Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging industry and training providers

·       Proactive, adaptable, and self-driven to deliver meaningful impact
