• Manages change orders and variation claims from subcontractors, prepares corresponding change order and variation claims to the Client, and maintains a complete register of all change orders.
• Collaborates closely with project teams and various disciplines (Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontractors) to support timely contract price adjustments and claims.

• Chairs production meetings between Yard’s subcontractors, supervisor and ship’s staff to clarify work scope, co-ordinate sequence of work, update schedules and other contractual matters.
• Ensure works are carried out according to the job specifications in terms of quantity, quality and meeting Class/Owner requirements by developing commissioning / mechanical completion test plans and arranging for inspection and survey for the Superintendents and Classification.
• Any other associated tasks and responsibilities assigned from time to time.

WSH Management :

• Chairs the Vessel’s Safety Co-ordination Committee Meetings to facilitate the safe execution of works in particular, hot work, incompatible work and potentially hazardous work.
• Administer, monitor and continuously ensure that all operations conform to safety requirements of the Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) Policy of the Yard.
• Be responsible for the overall safety and health of the work force under his supervision and charge.

Contract and Cost Management :

• Acts as shipyard’s main representative and be responsible for the refit / conversion / new build of the vessel as per owner’s contractual specifications / requirements.
• Administers the project specification and incorporates any changes in the work scope in the defect list.
• Assists to quote for work variations and facilitate billing as required.
• Maximises returns to shipyard and maintain project cost control.
• Establish and maintain an effective good project HSEQ programme to meet the established targets.

Customer Relations :

• Provide customer service, taking care of the needs of the Superintendent and Ship’s Officers.
• Good rapport and relationship with ship owners and representatives.
• Acts as project key contact person, actively involved in business / public relations through marketing visits, promotional activities and business entertainment.

•  Liaise with other discipline for relevant information that are needed for process design.

• Able to understand safety related drawing & documents (e.g. Safety Plan, Area Classification, Safety Signaling, Technical Specification for safety equipments, HSE Manual, Hydrant Location Study etc).

• Understand P&IDs and other related process, safety & instrumentation items
• Well understanding of the galvanic corrosion phenomena in the system design and able to avoid or resolve the galvanic corrosion related problems.
• Define control narrative and alarm set point for the instruments.
• System descriptions & all other kind of OIM (operation & maintenance manual)
• Sizing calculations (i.e. PSVs calculation, BDV calculations, SDV calculation, Control valves calculation)
• Carry out Hull Process related studies and prepare official report.
• Good knowledge in process simulation (PRO-II / HYSYS process simulator)
• Familiar System Design Safe Chart, Cause & Effect Matrix, Narrative Control Logic.
• Having knowledge to evaluate the relevant safety studies in FPSO design (i.e. HAZOP, HAZID,Radiation Study, Fire Explosion Study).
• Understanding of Working Environment Requirement and Human Ergonomic Design.
• Support commissioning activities and troubleshooting of system performance related issues.
• Able to perform Hull Process related activities with no or minimum supervision.

Requirements:

Job Description

Project & Technical Leadership

• Manage E&I engineering deliverables, ensuring alignment with project specifications, class rules, and international standards (IEC, IEEE, API, DNV, ABS, etc.).
• Define scopes of work for engineering subcontractors and monitor deliverable schedules to meet overall project timelines.
• Review and approve engineering documents including design philosophies, load lists, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, instrument indexes, control system architecture, and room/deck layouts.
• Oversee development of instrumentation deliverables such as loop diagrams, data sheets, wiring schematics, and hazardous area layouts.

Design & Integration

• Ensure optimal equipment layout and integration with consideration for constructability, operations, maintenance, safety, and material handling.
• Review and validate technical specifications, material requisitions, bid evaluations, and vendor documentation for major E&I equipment and bulk materials.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, structural, piping, telecom, automation, and safety teams to resolve interface issues.
• Lead and participate in 3D model reviews to address cable routing, equipment clearances, hazardous zoning, and clash resolution.

Procurement & Vendor Coordination

• Engage with vendors to resolve technical queries, manage design changes, and ensure timely incorporation into engineering and 3D models.
• Review vendor drawings, FAT procedures, and test results to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and other safety reviews to ensure functional safety and risk mitigation in E&I designs.
• Address comments from clients, classification societies, and third parties in a timely manner.

Construction & Commissioning Support

• Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases, including site visits and inspections.
• Review and update as-built documentation, ensuring accurate record-keeping of final installed systems.

Mentorship & Team Development

• Guide junior engineers and designers in preparing detailed drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Promote best practices in E&I design, documentation, and quality control.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in E&I engineering, with at least 3 years in offshore oil & gas, FPU/FPSO, or substation projects.
• Strong knowledge of offshore electrical systems, field instrumentation, telecom & navigation systems, and control system integration.
• Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI), SP3D, AVEVA Diagrams, and Navisworks.
• In-depth understanding of relevant international codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, ISA, API, DNV, ABS, etc.).
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering interfaces.
• Experience in offshore renewable energy or high-voltage substation projects.
• Knowledge of EX-rated equipment, hazardous area classification, and corrosion protection.
• Professional Engineer (PE) status, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent certification.
• Familiarity with digital engineering tools, condition monitoring, and smart instrumentation systems.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for setting up and maintaining the Hazardous Area Equipment Register and associated certifications using vendor documentation and bulk purchase orders.
• Collaborate closely with completions/PIMS personnel, discipline leads, Package Responsible Engineers, job site EEHA team, and report to the EEHA Coordinator.
• Verify and compile Hazardous Area Dossiers and maintain the Competency Matrix.
• Review and verify suppliers’ schedules of electrical equipment in hazardous areas and Equipment NRTL certificates.
• Monitor and flag detailed inspection status of equipment supplied by vendors, including integrated and shipped loose items.
• Provide ongoing support to the site EEHA team.
• Input bulk site installation data received from the Job Site EEHA administrator into the HAER system.
• Good understanding of EEHA requirements for design, procurement, installation, and certification.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Holds recognized EEHA qualifications such as CompEx for NEC (Modules Ex01–Ex04), equivalent certification, or at minimum the NEC 500 Foundation Certificate.
• Completed Ex-14 (Responsible Person) training course with certification.
• Minimum 6 years of working experience in offshore oil and gas project management and engineering execution, specifically in electrical engineering.
• Experience in electrical engineering design and execution for oil and gas projects.
• Able to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong understanding of strategies, work methods, processes, and systems in project and engineering execution.
• Competent in managing ambiguity, conflict, and working in a culturally diverse environment.
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
