Job Summary
- Assist the Service Manager in resolving technical issues raised by the clients, engineers and dealers.
- Assist the Service Manager in daily operations and ensure it runs smoothly with error-free service to meet clients’ pre-requisition.
- Identify and assess the trainings needs of the organization & service department through job analysis and conduct necessary training to meet the requirement.
Responsibilities
- Provide product maintenance, troubleshooting, testing and commissioning. Including radio survey and VDR APT for Japan-Flagged vessels.
- Ensure that all records for work schedules are updated and filed accordingly (e.g. Repair receipts, service reports, quotations, inspection report etc.)
- Provide technical advice to the personnel of FSG and FSG’s dealers and help them to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the work.
- Assist the relevant managers to resolve any differences in quotation or contract in installations and service activities.
- Co-ordinate and maintain service, production and project work schedule with clients/shipyards/service personnel.
- Liaise with sub-contractors, clients and other related authorities to ensure completion of projects within the timeline.
- Assist in planning, tracking and reporting on work progress.
- Develop a strong client relationship & build client’s loyalty through consistent delivery of error-free and timely service to meet client’s requirements. Feedback to FEC on customer needs.
- Conduct Risk Assessment for the assigned projects.
- Responsible to collect technical data and analyze product reliability issues for service and production enhancement. Constantly update the findings to the reporting Manager.
- Conducts technical training needs assessment by collecting information pertaining to work procedures, work scope, and reports, understanding job-specific functions and tasks.
- Continually research methods and techniques in workplace training and remain up-to-date on equipment.
- Monitor and evaluate engineer's skills and identify weaknesses and training needs. Maintaining their training records.
- Responsible for training, developing and imparting skills, knowledge & capabilities to the personnel.
- Assist in training programs for personnel so that they are competent on existing products as well as new products.
- Prepare and conduct regular training courses to all coordinators and engineers.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the reporting Manager and Head of Operations.
Knowledge / Skill Requirements
- Able to comprehend schematic circuit diagram on Electronics & Electrical design.
- Foundation and understanding on Navigation and Communication Equipment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese.
Education / Experience Requirements
- Diploma, Degree holder preferable in Electronics / Electrical / Communication / Marine Engineering with minimum 3 years of related working experiences.
- Radio operator license issued by Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication Japan.
- Marine radio mechanic license issued by The Ship’s Electric Installation Contractors’ Association of Japan.
- Diploma, Degree holder preferable in Electronics / Electrical / Communication / Marine Engineering with minimum 3 years of related working experiences.
