Job Overview
The Accounts Assistant is responsible for supporting the accounting team with daily financial operations. This role ensures accurate record-keeping, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with financial procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Process invoices, payments, and expense claims
Maintain and update financial records and ledgers
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
Prepare and post journal entries
Support month-end and year-end closing processes
Handle petty cash and monitor expenses
Assist in preparing financial reports and statements
Communicate with suppliers, clients, and internal departments
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
Basic knowledge of accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Excel
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Good organizational and time management skills
Effective communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education & Experience
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Previous experience in a finance or accounting role (preferred but not always required)
