Key responsibilities
- Lead and grow the company's business development activities in Bangladesh and South Asia, including client acquisition, proposal development, and contract negotiation
- Serve as the primary liaison for government bodies, regulatory agencies, NGOs, and private sector clients in Bangladesh
- Represent EcoSphere at industry forums, stakeholder meetings, and public consultations in the region
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of environmental engineering consultancy projects, ensuring quality, timeline, and compliance standards are met
- Contribute to corporate strategy and support the board on key operational and governance matters
- Build and manage a high-performing regional team, fostering a culture of excellence and sustainability
- Maintain accurate project and financial reporting to the board of directors
- Ensure all operations comply with applicable Singapore and Bangladesh regulations and environmental standards
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in environmental engineering, sustainability consultancy, or related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or directorial capacity
- Proven track record of business development and stakeholder management in Bangladesh — including familiarity with its regulatory environment, government processes, and private sector dynamics
- Professional proficiency in Bengali (Bangla) is required, as the role involves regular communication with Bangladesh-based clients, government stakeholders, and project partners in their preferred language
- Strong command of written and spoken English for internal reporting and Singapore-based communications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel to Bangladesh and other regional markets as required
Preferred qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Environmental Management, Sustainability, or Business Administration
- Existing network with Bangladesh government agencies (e.g. Department of Environment, BEZA, BIDA) or international development organisations active in the country
- Prior experience working in or with Singapore-based firms delivering cross-border consultancy projects
- Familiarity with IFC Performance Standards, ISO 14001, or equivalent environmental frameworks
