Role Summary
We are looking for a Hardware Integration Engineer to support the integration of charging hardware modules with software and system requirements. This role focuses on hardware review, supplier/interface coordination, prototype integration support, and mass-production readiness assistance in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware integration support: Support integration activities across charging hardware modules, embedded controllers and related interfaces to ensure system compatibility and smooth integration with software.
System integration ownership:
Define and maintain system-level interface requirements (electrical/mechanical/embedded) for charging hardware modules and validate integrator deliverables against these requirements.
Design review & verification: Review external hardware design outputs (e.g., drawings, schematics, BOM, test reports) and support internal verification against system requirements and safety/quality expectations.
Component screening & selection support: Assist the team in component screening and selection (e.g., power components, connectors, wiring, enclosures), and support the Project Manager in technical selection activities for pilot and production phases.
Prototype build & integration coordination: Support prototype build planning, integration checklists, and troubleshooting during lab testing; coordinate issue tracking and closure with relevant parties; lead technical triage for integration issues during prototype build/testing and coordinate root-cause analysis and closure with relevant parties.
Testing assistance: Assist in integration testing, basic validation and documentation of test results; support identification of integration risks and propose practical improvements; review and align test plans with system requirements; ensure test evidence is complete, traceable and supports pilot/production readiness.
Documentation: Maintain clear documentation including interface control documents, requirements traceability matrix, integration notes, test records, change logs and release notes.
Continuous improvement: Analyse integration issues, reliability/field feedback and test results; drive corrective actions and preventive improvements with the integrator and suppliers.
Supplier/partner coordination: Work with external partners and stakeholders to align deliverables, timelines and integration requirements.
Compliance support: Ensure deliverables align with relevant safety/quality standards by checking documentation completeness, traceability, and closure of compliance-related gaps.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
2–3 years of relevant experience in hardware integration, electrical/electronic systems, robotics, EV charging, battery/power systems, or related product engineering domains.
Basic understanding of embedded systems and hardware-software interfaces; exposure to power/battery systems (e.g., BMS concepts) is an advantage.
Able to read and review technical documents such as schematics, mechanical drawings, BOMs and test reports.
Good problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and external partners.
