The purpose of the role is to install, maintain, inspect and repair automotive testing equipment at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The Field Service Engineer plays a key role in ensuring that all systems meet our applicable standards and contribute to safe and compliant vehicle testing operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation & Commissioning

• Install and commission new automotive testing equipment at customer sites.

• Ensure correct setup, calibration and functionality in line with company standards.

• Support customers during the initial use and handover of systems.

2. Maintenance & Inspection

• Carry out preventive maintenance and statutory inspections on installed equipment.

• Work in accordance with Singapore Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.

• Complete and maintain accurate service and compliance documentation.

3. Troubleshooting & Repairs

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and software-related faults.

• Perform on-site repairs to restore equipment functionality with minimal downtime.

• Escalate complex technical issues and support root cause analysis where required.

4. Customer Support & Service

• Act as the face of Company at customer locations.

• Provide technical advice and support to customers on the safe and effective use of equipment.

• Deliver a high standard of customer service and build strong working relationships.

1. Commercial Management & Customer Relations

• Maintain and develop relationships with key customers, including government agencies and commercial clients
• Manage technical sales processes, including client consultations and solution presentations
• Lead tender and proposal preparation, including technical and commercial components
• Review and negotiate contracts, terms, and project scope
• Identify opportunities within the existing customer base for upgrades, service agreements, and replacement systems
• Act as primary commercial representative of the company in Singapore

2. Technical Oversight & Support (Hands-on involvement)

• Provide technical leadership and support for installed testing and inspection systems
• Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration activities when necessary
• Ensure high service quality and customer satisfaction
• Serve as technical escalation point for customers and internal team
• Provide technical guidance and training to local staff Hands-on involvement is expected, but also supported by the local technical team.

3. Project Coordination & Delivery

• Oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment and system upgrades
• Coordinate with customers, contractors, and external vendors
• Ensure compliance with local technical and regulatory requirements
• Monitor project timelines, quality, and customer acceptance

4. Operational Management

• Lead and supervise the local Singapore team (3 employees)
• Ensure efficient day-to-day operations of the entity
• Coordinate with HQ in The Netherlands regarding technical support, planning, and reporting
• Maintain relationships with local suppliers and service providers

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial, technical, or engineering environment
• Experience in technical sales, service, or project management
• Experience with industrial equipment, testing systems, or capital equipment preferred
• Experience managing customers independently in Singapore
• Management or leadership experience is advantageous.
• Strong technical understanding of industrial or electromechanical systems
• Ability to understand and explain technical solutions to customers
• Ability to oversee installations, service, and technical operations

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and oversight for the design and delivery of complex aviation and airside infrastructure projects.
• Drive business development initiatives and contribute to strategic market positioning in aviation and civil engineering sectors.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and resources across regional and global offices to ensure successful project execution.
• Develop project scopes, negotiate contracts, and manage financial performance to meet commercial targets.
• Represent high-level client engagements, industry forums, and strategic planning activities.

Requirements:

• 15 years of experience in aviation design, construction, and project leadership within a consulting environment within Singapore (Aviation experience is not a mandatory requirement, although preferred).
• Proven expertise in airside infrastructure systems, including operational experience in secure airside environments.
• Must have recognised tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, with qualifications like Chartered Membership, Professional Engineer or equivalent.
• Demonstrated success in securing and delivering large-scale aviation projects, including stakeholder and contractor management.
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation, safety standards (including Safety in Design), and industry best practices.
