The Director is responsible for overseeing the company’s end-to-end logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, distribution, and supply chain management. The role ensures efficient, cost-effective, and compliant logistics processes aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Leadership
· Develop and implement logistics and supply chain strategies to support business growth.
· Lead and manage logistics operations, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
· Establish KPIs and performance metrics for logistics operations.
2. Operations Management
· Oversee daily logistics activities including transportation, warehousing, and inventory control.
· Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
· Monitor and improve operational processes to enhance productivity.
3. Compliance & Regulatory
· Ensure compliance with Singapore regulations (e.g., customs, safety, and environmental standards).
· Liaise with relevant authorities such as Singapore Customs and Ministry of Manpower where applicable.
· Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections.
4. Financial Management
· Prepare and manage logistics budgets and cost controls.
· Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profit margins.
· Evaluate vendor contracts and negotiate pricing.
5. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
· Manage relationships with freight forwarders, transport providers, and warehouse operators.
· Negotiate contracts and service agreements with logistics partners.
· Collaborate with internal departments (procurement, finance, operations).
6. Risk Management
· Identify potential risks in logistics operations and implement mitigation plans.
· Ensure business continuity and contingency planning (e.g., supply chain disruptions).
7. Team Leadership
· Lead, mentor, and develop logistics and operations teams.
· Build a high-performance culture within the department.
Qualifications & Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
· Minimum 8–10 years of experience in logistics or supply chain, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
· Strong knowledge of freight, warehousing, and distribution operations.
· Familiarity with Singapore logistics regulations and compliance requirements.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
