JOB PURPOSE:

The VMI Programs Manager is primarily responsible for developing and implementing ‘service excellence’ standards and operating procedures in support of the Company’s specialized inventory management programs which are offered to our customers; such as BIM, VBIM, and Consignment Programs.

The role includes responsibility for project management of various process improvement initiatives and development of standard operating procedures (SOP) related to the INVENTORY MANAGEMENT DEPT dept and Sales Branches as defined by region, territory and/or country, as required.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Manage the VMI Programs team who are focused on providing service excellence through on-line system-management of the inventory programs with our customers and sales branches.

3. Ensure that the VMI department goals and objectives are met through regular communication and feedback with the team.

5. Assist the INVENTORY MANAGEMENT DEPT ISO Champion in obtaining and retaining ISO certification for the department.

6. Actively participate in the growth and development of the INVENTORY MANAGEMENT DEPT department services and solutions as a member of the management team.

JOB CONTENT:

VMI Programs Management

1. Provide direction and guidance to the VMI Team in managing the daily accountabilities of the team, such as BIM Performance Measurement and Reporting, Bond Management Reviews, and various Consignment reports.

2. Address the individual needs of the existing and new team members through ongoing evaluation of skill set and competencies and then provide guidance and training as required.

3. Facilitate meetings and/or conference calls between VMI dept, sales branch and Product Marketing staff as and when necessary to address issues or challenges related to a specific customer program.

4. Communicate BIM Performance Reports to the field and adress problem areas of underperformance with the respective sales teams to ensure the services offered in the program are meeting or exceeding the expectations of the customers and the sales branches.

Our client is a MNC Freight Forwarding Company. Due to their current expansion plan, they are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team, in hopes of developing the current high performing team. They are located in Central.

Job Responsibilities:

• Identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities across Singapore for logistics and supply chain services.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and propose customized logistics solutions, including sea, air, road transport, and other value-added services.
• Drive revenue growth by acquiring new accounts and expanding existing client relationships through cross-selling and solution-based approaches.
• Lead end-to-end sales activities, from lead generation and client meetings to proposals, negotiations, and deal closure.
• Prepare and manage tenders, RFQs, and proposals in alignment with client requirements and internal guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal teams (operations, pricing, procurement, and finance) to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in CRM systems, including sales pipeline, account details, and revenue forecasts.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for business growth and service improvements.
• Achieve assigned sales targets, KPIs, and revenue objectives.
• Travel within Singapore as required to meet clients and develop new business opportunities.
• Provide regular reporting on sales activities, account development, and market insights to management.
• Support business improvement initiatives and contribute ideas to enhance operational efficiency and client experience.

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Business Administration/Sales/Logistics, or equivalent.
• Proven experience in B2B sales, with a strong track record in acquiring new clients and growing accounts.
• Strong business development mindset with a proactive and results-driven approach.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in managing sales pipelines, tenders, and customer relationships would be advantageous.
• Comfortable with travelling within Singapore for client meetings and business development activities.
