Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and sustain Dry etch processes in R&D and Small volume manufacturing environment
• Responsible for performing professional process engineering research, from the concept to the final process development for a wide variety of materials (Metals, Silicon, Dielectrics, SiC and other speciality materials)

Scope of Responsibilities and Deliverables 

1. Oversees and coordinates ecosystem activities for quantum computing and technologies:

1. Supports the Executive Director of the National Quantum Office in developing and executing a go-to-industry strategy that will support the growth of a vibrant quantum ecosystem in Singapore.
2. Leads the National Quantum Office’s response to key companies interested to deepen collaboration on Quantum with our national-level quantum programmes such as the National Quantum Computing Hub, and coordinate with the Singapore’s ecosystem to secure stakeholders’ support.
3. Maintains a positive and productive relationship with partners, resolving partnership and technical issues on behalf of the Executive Director.
4. Provides industry domain expertise and advice to the Executive Director on industry and enterprise development aspects for quantum technologies.
5. Represents the Executive Director at various stakeholder platforms on ecosystem development matters.

1. At least 10 years of working experience in a similar capacity, with background in science or engineering and an understanding of quantum technologies.

Qualifications and Field of Study

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, NLP, Biomedical Informatics, or a related field
• Strong experience in LLM pre-training and fine-tuning (CPT, SFT, DPO, RLHF-style methods)
• Experience with large-scale training frameworks (PyTorch, DeepSpeed, FSDP, HuggingFace, etc.)
• Experience handling noisy real-world clinical or biomedical text data
• Strong experimental design and benchmarking skills
• Familiarity with cloud-based GPU training environments

Desirable:

• Experience with medical reasoning LLMs
• Background in medical NLP or healthcare AI
• Publications in ML/NLP/health AI journals/conferences

Experience

2-4 years post-PhD with track record in domain deployment oriented projects in applied health or other domains, and in publishing research in leading digital health venues. Experience in healthcare, corporate or application-oriented environments desirable.

We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Scientist, the successful candidate will join the Advanced Process Modules (APM) team at IME, develop specialty technologies for CMP process.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Develop CMP process for silicon photonics, flat optics, advanced packaging, MEMS, and wide bandgap semiconductor applications to enable process and/or product realization.
2. Provide technical leadership in collaboration with process development, optimization, and troubleshooting for both industrial and grant-funded projects.
3. Own innovation strategy for CMP raw materials, slurry, methodologies, and approaches to enhance CMP uniformity, stability and defect performance.
4. Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations for both internal stakeholders and external customers, effectively communicating project progress and technical insights.
5. File patents and know-hows for new development activities.
6. Publish research findings in leading journals and conferences

Job Requirements

1. Ph.D degree in Electronics, Microelectronics, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or equivalent.
2. Minimum 2 years of relevant working experiences in R&D and/or semiconductor industry, preferably in CMP technologies.
3. Hands-on experience with 200 mm or 300 mm CMP equipment platforms (e.g., AMAT or Ebara) is highly desirable.
4. Knowledge of silicon photonics, advanced packaging, MEMS, or wide bandgap semiconductor platforms is advantageous.
5. Hands-on experience with basic process characterization techniques such as SEM, Ellipsometry, and AFM is a plus.
