We are entering an exciting growth phase focused on cutting-edge data centre construction. We aren't looking for someone to just "crunch numbers" - we are looking for a Finance Business Partner who can act as a vital bridge between our business units, finance and senior management. 

While this position encompasses the end-to-end project accounting function, expertise in Capital budgeting and forecasting is the cornerstone of the role. In this role, you won't just manage data; you will refine our forecasting and transform complex project information into a meaningful narrative that drives high-level decision-making and real impact across the organisation. 

What will you do:  

• Manage all project accounting activities, including monthly project journals, accruals, cost adjustments and reallocations, budget transfers, and project financial close  
• Coordinate and support day-to-day project-level financial transactions, including project setup, cost code maintenance, progress claim reconciliations, procurement support, and invoice payment workflow approvals  
• Maintain project master data across all relevant systems, including project codes, project-level cost codes, and associated general ledger accounts  
• Perform monthly reconciliation and reporting of actual project expenditure and commitments against approved project budgets  
• Lead monthly project budget reviews with Project Managers and provide expenditure reforecasts as inputs into month-end reporting processes  
• Prepare and deliver project-level capital expenditure forecasts as part of the annual corporate planning process  
• Collaborate with the Fixed Assets team to ensure work-in-progress balances are reconciled monthly and transferred to the Fixed Assets Register for timely depreciation  
• Partner with project delivery teams to establish and maintain compliance with financial policies, procedures, and governance requirements  
• Act as a key liaison between Finance and the business for project accounting matters, including capital expenditure forecasts for insurance premiums, Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reporting, and internal and external audit requirements  
• Undertake other ad hoc duties as assigned by the manager  

About you

• Proven experience in complex financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting within construction, infrastructure, or a similar capex-heavy industry. 
• Passionate about efficiency and "working smarter." You possess advanced skills in Power tools and you enjoy using them to streamline large datasets and automate manual processes.

The Role

● Primarily conduct analysis and reviews of individual applications to validate Lumi’s automated decisioning process.

The Graduate Business Analyst role supports TAL’s claims transformation by translating complex operational workflows into clear, actionable requirements that guide technology delivery. • Establishing a structured and reliable source of construction project forecast costs, appropriate to the lifecycle phase, the role requires skills in both top-down structured cost planning, in addition to bottom-up estimating.
• To establish template cost plans and an in-house database of construction and other applicable capex costs, as well as establishing a guide to appropriate inclusion of risk allowances at various lifecycle phases.
• It is envisaged that the service provider will take a cost-planning approach to all cost forecasting, supplemented by quantity-based estimates only where appropriate and where suitable detailed documentation is available.
• Precedent external and in-house data should be blended strategically with design and site information to the extent it is available, to deliver a model that can be flexibly ‘statused’ and updated as new information comes to hand, without requiring an onerous update of all components of the estimate.
• Use of appropriate contingency allowances is required to be made in consultation with the broader project team.

What You’ll Do

As a Payroll Project Specialist, you'll be supporting the People Services Project team with various payroll transformation projects. You'll contribute your payroll knowledge and work with a wide range of key stakeholders including employees themselves, People Systems Team as well as the Finance, Internal compliance team and the broader People & Culture function.

You will also be responsible for activities including EBA and Award test script writing, System testing for new payroll changes, LSL reconciliations and any associated remediation calculations, payroll system enhancements and testing, and automation initiatives. The role is required to have understanding of the T&A system function and be a support to the payroll BAU team and management.

This role is 12-month maximum term contract role offering a hybrid work opportunity where you will be required to work across our Sydney CBD and Sydney Olympic Park offices as well as some work from home.

What You'll Bring

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting – Finance (desirable not essential)
• Experience working with ERP Payroll systems and time and attendance systems such as Dayforce, Deputy, Riteq, Kronos
• 5 years’ experience within a payroll officer / Specialist role
• Intermediate to advanced experience with the Microsoft product suite
• Ability to navigate and use payroll systems to extract pay rules, data and to undertake payroll remediation work
• Considerable payroll process and systems experience, ideally with experience in implementing payroll systems
