A leading regional bank is building the next generation of its digital banking platforms across Asia Pacific and they're looking for a hands-on engineering leader to drive it.

You'll be own engineering excellence for our high-volume web and mobile channel applications, used by customers across the region. That means setting the technical bar and making sure it's met: governing architecture, enforcing code quality across internal and vendor teams, validating designs against what actually ships, and keeping CI/CD and code management practices sharp.

This is a leadership role for someone who stays close to the code reviewing merge requests, spotting technical risk and debt early, and mentoring developers into a culture of quality and accountability. You'll work alongside architects, product owners, and QA to deliver platforms that meet the security and regulatory standards of a major financial institution.

You bring

• Around 10 years building software for financial institutions

• Deep Java/Spring Boot and microservices expertise, with REST, gRPC, and Kafka

• Proven delivery of secure, internet-facing apps: SSO, OIDC/SAML, MFA, OWASP

• Hands-on Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD (Git, Jenkins, GitOps/ArgoCD)

• Solid database grounding (Oracle, NoSQL, ElasticSearch)

• Payments or cash management domain experience a plus

• Clear communication and a strong sense of ownership

Our client is a technology-first global hedge fund based in Singapore, building their data platform from scratch. They're looking for a hands-on Software Engineer who wants to own the whole stack.

This is a greenfield build. No legacy baggage, no sprawling bureaucracy. You'll work on genuinely hard distributed systems problems alongside a small, high-calibre team where the quality of your thinking matters more than your title. Modern tooling, AI-augmented workflows, and real engineering autonomy.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and operate core data infrastructure end-to-end — from ingestion pipelines to storage and serving layers

• Own CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows (GitLab, Nomad)

• Work with modern open table formats (Apache Iceberg) and cloud object storage (S3) at scale

• Apply AI tooling where it genuinely accelerates delivery

What they're looking for

• Strong Python engineering — you write clean, production-grade code and care about the craft

• Comfort across the stack: infrastructure, pipelines, APIs, and everything in between

• DevOps experience with GitLab CI/CD, Nomad, S3, or Iceberg is a strong plus

• Low ego, high standards — you thrive in a small team where everyone pulls their weight
