Job Summary
Lead and manage R&D and implementation projects in collaboration with NUS, EMA, and industry partners to develop and deploy software-enabled energy management solutions for grid peak shaving, demand response, solar PV, battery energy storage, and load control systems. The Project Manager will be responsible for project planning, stakeholder coordination, technical delivery management, site implementation, and continuous improvement to ensure successful project execution and alignment with technical, commercial, and regulatory objectives.
Responsibilities
• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of R&D and implementation projects related to solar PV, battery energy storage systems, demand response, grid peak shaving, and energy management platforms
• Manage collaborations with universities, government agencies, technology partners, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery
• Coordinate the development and deployment of energy management platforms, demand response control systems, and integrated PV-BESS-load control solutions
• Oversee project schedules, milestones, documentation, technical submissions, site activities, testing, commissioning, and performance validation
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure the integration of IoT, EMS, BMS, SCADA, smart meters, APIs, and data platforms into practical energy management solutions
• Review and coordinate technical designs, control strategies, data collection plans, testing procedures, and system improvement proposals
• Support grant applications, project proposals, technical reports, presentations, and progress updates for universities, government agencies, and project stakeholders
• Monitor project risks, technical issues, site constraints, manpower allocation, budget control, and compliance requirements, and provide timely solutions
• Lead on-site coordination for system installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and data collection activities
• Analyze system performance data together with the technical team to identify improvement opportunities and ensure project outcomes meet expected goals
• Communicate regularly with clients, partners, vendors, contractors, and internal management to provide project updates and resolve project-related issues
• Support continuous improvement of solar PV, battery storage, load control, energy efficiency, and AI-based energy management solutions
• Stay updated on renewable energy, grid digitalization, energy storage, demand response, AI-based EMS, and related regulatory developments to support project innovation and business growth
Preferred Competencies and Qualifications
• Background in electrical engineering, energy engineering, power systems, renewable energy, computer science, project management, or related fields
• Experience in managing technical projects involving solar PV, battery energy storage, EMS, BMS, SCADA, IoT, APIs, smart meters, or power systems
• Strong understanding of renewable energy systems, grid interaction, demand response, peak shaving, and energy management concepts
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, including software engineers, electrical engineers, site teams, vendors, contractors, consultants, and external partners
• Experience in project planning, technical documentation, site coordination, testing, commissioning, reporting, and stakeholder management
• Good communication skills for working with universities, government agencies, clients, contractors, and technology partners
• Basic understanding of programming, data analysis, Python, IoT platforms, or energy management software will be an advantage
• Interest in renewable energy, grid digitalization, energy storage, and AI-based energy management technologies
• Strong problem-solving ability, ownership mindset, and ability to manage multiple project tasks under timeline and delivery pressure
