Job Summary:
The Senior Specialist Analyst is responsible for leading business requirements gathering and documentation, performing requirement and system analysis, design user-centered solutions that align to our standards and ensure intuitive, accessible, and seamless experiences for all users, performing testing, assisting in the quality assurance process, and managing user acceptance testing. This role will reside in the IT Product Direct-To-Consumer Team, working with IT and business departments across the organization to gather and understand the detailed & complex requirements.
Work with other Product Owners and Scrum Teams members to support the execution of those requirements.
Job Duties:
- Understand the business needs across numerous departments as well as end-to-end IT process.
- Develop and maintain Stakeholder management and Scope management.
- Lead interview sessions and requirements gathering meetings with stakeholder groups in order to perform effective analysis of the business’ needs and requirements.
- Oversee and collaborate with broader project and IT teams to ensure understanding and acceptance of the business requirements.
- Understand current state business processes, identify enhancement opportunities, negotiate changes across business and technology teams, and deliver as-is and future state process documentation.
- Develop and deliver appropriate material to communicate business requirements including, but not limited to, a Backlog of User Stories, Gap Analysis, Data Mapping, Wireframes/Prototypes, User Flows and Report Templates and Requirements Templates.
- Develop and distribute User Acceptance Test (UAT) Plan, including test scenarios, coordinate and manage user acceptance testing.
- Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to inform design decisions.
- Lead/Mentor other Senior Specialist Analyst fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree, related to computer information systems or equivalent.
- 5+ years of relevant Business Analysis experience, including leadership experience in Business Analysis.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the Insurance industry.
- Strong understanding and experience in the Waterfall and Agile (Scrum) Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework.
- Strong analytical and project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
- Knowledge and understanding of Business and Process Analysis best practices, techniques and tools.
- Strategic, analytical and logical thinker with excellent organization skills and proven planning, problem solving, leadership and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to understand and gather complex business requirements, map out technical solutions, and help develop and manage defined timelines.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and tight timelines using analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as an integral member of a team.
- Ability to work collaboratively with business representatives, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and technical teams and project managers on development projects during all phases of the SDLC.
- Experience in UX Design and related tools (Figma) and concepts (HTML, CSS) is added advantage.
