This project aims to develop a real-time blood analysis and diagnostic platform using an integrated microfluidic chip. Our APAC team of 50+ coastal engineers and scientists have a strong reputation of delivering high-quality work in design of coastal infrastructure, boating facilities and coastal protection. We also work in coastal modelling, adaptation planning, nature-based coastal protection, dredging, port planning and offshore wind. 

We are looking for specialists to join us in our growing Singapore office, with a specialty for preparing proposals and technical expertise in either Coastal or Maritime Structures Engineering, Port Engineering, or Coastal Modelling. 

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will:

• Contribute to a diverse range of coastal and offshore projects Including terminal and  port development projects, for private and public sector clients. 
• Write proposals and support with business development and customer relationship management.
• Act as a Project Design Manager for small to large scale projects and lead the engagement with the end client. 
• Lead the design of coastal infrastructure across Singapore and the APAC region including jetties, marinas, wharves, boat ramps, breakwaters, seawalls, revetments and other coastal protection infrastructure.
• Be part of a cross-discipline team, working with coastal engineers, mechanical/electrical engineers, oceanographers, environmental scientists, naval architects, GIS and approvals specialists.
• Be a technical leader in the maritime structures area, conducting internal reviews and contributing to the development of templates and workflows. 
• Providing leadership and mentoring to less experienced team members. 

About you

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Strong experience working within the engineering/consulting sector including experience with proposals and directly managing customers or external stakeholders
• A Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering is a must; master’s degree an advantage.
• 5+ years’ experience post-graduation, in a technical consultancy organisation
• Experience working in Coastal Structures, Piers and Port Engineering, Maritime Defence infrastructure, LNG ports/terminals or equivalent industries. 
• Working knowledge of Singaporean, Australian and/or international standards and guidelines relevant to the design of coastal structures such as seawalls, revetments, breakwaters, groynes etc.
• Relevant registration with recognized engineering/environmental body.
• Strong English language skills. Secondary language skills in Malay, Mandarin, Tamil, Burmese or Bahasa are desirable.
• Unrestricted and permanent work rights in Singapore.

Job Description

The opportunity:

Hitachi Energy's Grid Integration business unit has delivered more than 4,000 projects over the last 15 years. Our Grid Integration portfolio spans a wide range of transmission and substation applications, which facilitate reliable and efficient system integration of the future digital electric network with minimum environmental impact. We incorporate the integrated systems, solutions and services of our business' DC and AC fields, including HVDC, Substations, FACTS, Grid and Power Quality solutions such as offshore wind connections, and Semiconductors. We offer Power Consulting for key segments in the energy system, such as renewables, transmission distribution and as well as e-transportation solutions. Based in Singapore, the Project Lead Engineer serves as the technical heartbeat of the project lifecycle. You will lead the engineering strategy for critical infrastructure projects, including GIS substations, BESS, and E-Mobility. This role demands a balance of deep technical expertise and cross-functional leadership, as you will be responsible for the integrity of all technical deliverables while managing key relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams like Project Management and Supply Chain.

How you’ll make an impact:

• You will be responsible for the complete technical deliverables inline with the project schedule complying with company quality standards and process. .

• You will drive completion of all engineering activities on the project, collaborating with other teams i.e. Project Management, Supply Chain , HSE etc.

• You will lead the technical discussions with customer and suppliers.  

• You will provide technical support for installation, testing and commissioning activities.

• You will provide  cost effective quality solutions and delivering within budget and contract.

• You will  support tendering team by ensuring the technical offering to customer compliance with the contractual requirement, value add by optimizing the technical solution

• You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering

• Minimum 6 years of  direct working experience in the electrical engineering field especially in high voltage switchgear engineering, Power Transformer, LV Switchgear, protection relay

• Experience in handling Cable, Cable tray, and earthing package.

• Familiar with IEC , IEEE standards associated with the above listed equipments/ packages

• Ability to review system study documents eg. Load flow, short circuit documents.

• Proficiency English communication verbal and written.
