Duties to be Performed:

Senior Mechanical Engineer – Fire Protection Systems will be responsible for designing and delivering mechanical systems for industrial properties in the semiconductor, electronics, biopharma, and related industries.

The Duties/ Responsibilities of the Prospective Candidate are,

• Responsible for Concept, Basic, and Detailed Design of Mechanical Fire Protection Systems, including Fire Sprinkler, Fire Hydrant, Fire Hose Reel in accordance with local and international codes.

• Lead and perform tasks in RTL synthesis, floor planning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, and physical verification.
• Manage signoff activities including Static Timing Analysis (STA), EMIR, and Physical Verification (PV) to ensure tape out-quality designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DFT, RTL, STA, Packaging) to drive seamless integration and execution.
• Plan, monitor, and execute project execution, set deadlines, track milestones, and report progress to leadership.
• Guide, mentor, and develop the team, fostering technical excellence and a collaborative environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design challenges, proactively communicating risks and mitigation strategies.
• Interface with EDA vendors and keep up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and methodologies.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations, document processes, and contribute to organizational knowledge base.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering.
• Hands-on experience in physical design, including synthesis, PNR, STA, EMIR, and PV is a plus.
• Strong expertise with EDA tools: Synopsys, Cadence, or Siemens (e.g., Design Compiler, IC Compiler, Fusion Compiler, Genus, Innovus, PrimeTime, Voltus, Calibre).
• Proven track record of successful tapeouts for complex semiconductor products.
• Solid understanding of power, performance, area (PPA) optimization techniques.
• Excellent project management skills, including resource planning, task tracking, and team leadership.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present technical material and interact confidently with cross-functional teams.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineers.
• Familiarity with advanced process nodes (3nm, 2nm)

Job Description

• Leading in-house engineering design works of Electrical / ELV System, including detailed design of MV / LV reticulation System, load calculation, voltage drop & fault level calculation, lighting lux simulation, lightning protection system, EVC System, access control system etc.
• Attend design coordinate meetings with main-con, consultants and other contractors.
• Coordinate with BIM / drafting personnel for the 3D model / drawings production for design drawing / shop drawings submission.
• Coordinate with BIM personnel for the Combined Services Drawings.
• Assist in preparing the material requisition for all Electrical / ELV equipment and materials.
• Assist site team in carrying out testing and commissioning, combined services testing for TOP/CSC,  
• Coordinate with other trade of contractors such as Mechanical System, Process System, Structural etc to capture.
• Participate in liaison with Electrical / ELV suppliers for quotation, carry out equipment selection, technical and commercial evaluation.
• Analyse, manage and track project costs against budget.
• Assist in preparing material submittals for electrical system to the Consultant for approval.
• Participate in tender preparation for new projects.

Requirements

• Min bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Min 5 years of Electrical Design working experience in building construction industry, preferable in handling Building Service Electrical / ELV / Lift & Escalator works.
• Good understanding of the relevant Code of Practice (Singapore or overseas).
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Tender Bidding and Project cost Analytical and Critical Thinking
• Proactive and willing to learn and take on new challenges.
• BCA/SCDF/PUB authority certification is an advantage
