Job Description:
• Coordinate and conduct hospice tour for visitors, educational institutions and community partners.
• Oversee the planning, arrangement and coordination of clinical attachments for all learners and trainees; ensure clinical education complies with Singapore Nursing Board Standards for Clinical Nursing Education
• Plan, schedule and supervise the learner nurses and trainees during their clinical attachment to ensure that they integrate theory in practice to meet clinical requirements.
• Develop and conduct Entrustable Professional Activities (EPA) and competency assessment for nurses.
• Oversee training and course development, ensure its quality standards.
• Work with content experts in curriculum development and revision, based on expert opinions and course evaluation. Ensure the curriculum reflects the latest industrial practice and evidence-based practice.
• Oversee the course delivery, ensure course contents are delivered by qualified trainers effectively.
• Oversee the logistic and administrative matters of courses open for external participants.
• Ensure course operation follows the standard of practice.
• Review/develop policy and procedures on education and training activities.
• People and Personal Development
• Develop and coordinate clinical attachment programmes for interns, based on learning outcomes and specific requirements.
• Oversee the assessment of learners in the clinical setting.
• Assist in and support the planning and implementation of learning and development plans for all staff.
• Liaise with and provide feedback to the Senior Nurse Manager / Nurse Manager in the maintenance of an ffective clinical learning environment.
• Collaborate with Nurse Clinician and Nurse Manager to develop, implement and audit nursing standards.
• Develop, review and evaluate training materials for clinical staff.
• Act as educational resource personnel for trained nurses and trainees.
• Participate in committees and special projects focusing on the education and training needs of staff and patients / caregivers.
• Provide supervision, mentorship, and leadership to junior educators and education executives.
Community Engagement and Empowerment
• Plan, develop, implement and evaluate in-service and continuing education programmes for staff. This is done in collaboration with Human Resource Department and Education Department.
• Collaborate with educational partners, develop and contextualise training program for the community in accordance with training needs and relevant competency framework.
• Review and evaluate in-house training volunteer programmes.
• Research and Quality Improvement
• Integrate best practices and research evidence in the delivery of care to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Drive research-based practice for clinical excellence.
Others
• Comply with the Singapore Nursing Board's Standards of Practice for Nurses and Midwives, and the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
• Undertake to keep oneself well informed of the updated industry guidelines and develop new skills that are necessary for the job.
• Participate in and drive quality assurances initiatives / activities to improve the standard of practice in patient care areas.
• Perform any other duties as and when assigned.
Job Requirements: Min Degree in Nursing w min 3-5 yrs of relevant perm experience, preferably with clinical instructor qualification from poly, or postgraduate in education from NIE.
