Contract Period: From July 2026 to June 2027.
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:
•5 days a week in the School
•Weekdays: 8:00am to 4:00pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
•Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays and school holidays.
Requirements:
The Personnel should preferably have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
Qualifications (Preferably):
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Education, Youth Work, or related fields.
• Relevant training in counselling, restorative practices, or youth engagement is an advantage.
Skills:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, parents, staff, and external agencies.
• Ability to supervise and manage students in structured settings such as detention or intervention programmes.
• Ability to facilitate small-group sessions and student reflection conversations.
• Good observation, documentation, and record-keeping skills.
• Competent in basic IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, student management systems).
Experience:
• At least 1–2 years of experience in school-based support work, youth work, or related educational settings.
• Experience working with adolescents or at-risk students in preventive or intervention programmes.
• Experience liaising with parents, schools, and community agencies is an advantage.
Job Scopes:
The Services required are set out and shall be as follows:
During curriculum hours (8am-1pm)
1.Student Development and Preventive Work
• Manning of rooms/centres for students undergoing restorative programmes, in-school suspension, or detention.
• Supervise detention sessions, including attendance-taking and ensuring completion of assigned reflection tasks.
• Conduct interviews, reflection sessions, and regular check-ins with students.
• Facilitate small-group activities such as circle time, journaling, and goal-setting to support students’ social-emotional growth.
• Support programmes addressing issues such as peer relationships, stress management, and self-esteem.
2.Consultation and Collaboration
• Work closely with the Student Development Team (SDT), Year Heads, and Form Teachers to support students with higher needs.
• Provide practical strategies to teachers for supporting at-risk students.
• Participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary discussions where required.
3.Family and Community Engagement
• Contact and update parents regarding student behaviour, attendance, and intervention matters where necessary.
• Liaise with external agencies (e.g. FSCs, MSF, ComLink, VWOs) in consultation with the school to coordinate student support.
4.Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
• Monitor student progress and recommend follow-up support where necessary.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in line with school requirements.
After-Curriculum Hours (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM) Roles
• Support the facilitation of group work, intervention, or enrichment programmes.
• Assist in supervising students involved in detention, restorative practices, or intervention programmes.
• Perform other duties as agreed between the agency and the school to support student well-being.
