Job Responsibilities

Job Requirements

Min. Higher NITEC / Diploma Human Resource Management / Business or related studies.

Plan, schedule, control and monitor work progress at site.

Plan and arrange manpower to job site.

Continuously ensure adherence to planned timelines.

Maintain and monitor quality, cost and document controls.

Prepare and submit all daily / weekly reports as required.

Identify and assess any foreseeable risk arising from the workplace or work processes, minimize environmental impact associated with the construction activities.

1. Project Coordination

• Assist the Project Manager in day-to-day coordination of steel and metal works projects

• Liaise with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams

• Track shop drawings, RFIs, method statements, and technical submissions

2. Drawings & Technical Support

• Assist in drawing coordination (Drawings prepared by the drafting team)

• Liaise with the drafting team on revisions, updates, and coordination issues

• Ensure drawings are aligned with site conditions, specifications, and contract requirements

3. Material Take-Off & Procurement

• Assist in material quantity take-off for steel and metal works

• Support the Project Manager/QS in cost checking, variation order (VO) support, and progress claims

• Maintain basic records for quantities, tonnage, and material usage

• Assist in material requisitions and delivery planning

4. Site Support

• Assist PM in site coordination, installation planning, and work sequencing

• Attend site meetings and inspections when required

• Support the PM in resolving site issues related to steel and metal works

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Assist PM in preparing simple project reports, schedules, and trackers

• Ensure documentation is updated, organised, and properly controlled

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field

• 0–3 years of experience in steel, metal works, or construction industry (fresh graduates welcome)

• Basic understanding of structural steel and metal works preferred

• Able to read drawings and perform basic quantity take-off

• Proficient in MS Excel and Word; AutoCAD / TEKLA knowledge is a plus

Sourcing & Vendor Management

• Conduct market search to identify potential suppliers, evaluating them based on cost, quality, reliability, and delivery speed
• Prepare requests for quotations (RFQs) and compare bids to secure cost-effective deals
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors to secure favorable terms and ensure consistent supply

Purchasing & Negotiation

• Collate purchase orders (POs) and requisitions and submit them to approved suppliers
• Negotiate delivery terms, warranties, and transport costs to maximize company cost savings.

Administration & Reporting

• Review and verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and coordinate with the finance department to process payments.

Requirement

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering Structural Engineering or equivalent.

3. Candidates must possess Resident Engineer (RE) accreditation by IES/ACES, or be eligible to obtain RE accreditation in Singapore.
