ABOUT THE ROLE

This role provides hands-on accounting support to the Finance Business Partner, ensuring that EQUAL’s day-to-day financial operations are accurate, timely, and well-organised. You will be responsible for executing core accounting processes — including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and maintaining proper financial records — while supporting month-end closing and audit preparation. This is a foundational finance role designed for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and keen to build strong accounting fundamentals in a mission-driven organisation. • Prepare financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) and assist in budgeting exercises
• Participate in financial audit
• Review and implement financial policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations (e.g GST, Charity Accounting Standards, etc)
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on matters pertaining to audit, grants and financial reporting
• Other ad hoc duties as assigned from time to time

• Diploma / Degree in Accountancy
• 3 - 5 years of working experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable
• Good time management and comfortable to work in fast-paced environment
• Experience in using an accounting system and MS Excel
• Attention to detail and able to work under pressure
• Good interpersonal and communication skills

• Working Hours: 5 days (Mon – Fri, 9.00am – 6.45pm)
• Salary Package: Basic salary up to $5,000 + AWS + Variable Bonus
• Duration: Permanent Role

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a full set of accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and the general ledger.
• Handle tax matters, including quarterly GST filings and corporate income tax.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Work with the finance team and other departments to keep financial data accurate and current.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement more efficient financial practices.

• Degree or professional qualification in Accounting or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a full-cycle accounting role; experience in the construction industry is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of financial accounting principles, including GST regulations and reporting requirements.
• Proficient with ABSS (MYOB) and QuickBooks accounting software.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial best practices.
