Key Responsibilities

Research Assistant

The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is recruiting a full-time, experienced research assistant to support a funded research project investigating knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to sustainable diets, their environmental implications (e.g. greenhouse gas emissions), and their association with cardiometabolic disease outcomes in a multi‑ethnic Asian population in Singapore.

Job scope:
• Support the development, adaptation, and implementation of a knowledge, attitudes, and practices survey on sustainable diets and environmental impact, including assisting with item refinement, pilot testing, and survey documentation
• Assist in administering and coordinating the conduct of the survey, including data integrity checks and response tracking, as applicable
• Manage, clean, and analyse survey data
• Support analysis of dietary data derived from food frequency questionnaires in large population-based cohorts
• Assist in deriving and validating diet quality indices (e.g. Planetary Health Diet Index)

Requirements:

To strengthen national capabilities, we are advancing AI-enabled localized tropical weather prediction under projects secured through the Aviation Meteorological Programme (AMP) and Weather Science Research Programme (WSRP).

We are seeking highly motivated Research Scientists and Engineers to advance our AI-enabled weather intelligence research. The role focuses on conducting cutting-edge, data-driven research on tropical convective hazard prediction using multi-modal datasets from weather observation systems and Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) models. Successful candidate will work with a team of data scientists and engineers to develop, implement, and evaluate advanced machine learning and deep learning models for multi-source, multi-scale weather forecasting, leveraging state-of-the-art AI techniques to improve the accuracy and spatio-temporal resolution of hazardous weather predictions such as heavy precipitation, strong winds, and lightning. Beyond methodological innovation, you will also play a key role in translating research breakthroughs into operationally deployable solutions, working in a multi-disciplinary team comprising atmospheric scientists and operational stakeholders.

Job Description

We are seeking a Curriculum Specialist to design and implement science curriculum for secondary students. The role focuses on developing effective teaching approaches, strengthening tutor capabilities, and improving student outcomes, alongside providing tutoring under the CDAC Tuition Programme.

Job Responsibilities 

1. Curriculum Development

• Design and implement science curriculum aligned with student needs and MOE syllabuses
• Develop and pilot evidence-informed teaching approaches to improve engagement and understanding
• Use student data to refine curriculum and enhance programme effectiveness

2. Professional Development

• Design and deliver training, resources, and coaching to strengthen tutors’ instructional practices
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support innovative learning initiatives

3. Tutoring

• Tutor and coach Secondary Science students, providing targeted academic support
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback
• Assist with tutor coverage when required, including evenings and weekends

4. Programme Support

• Support programme implementation, reporting, and partnerships

Requirements

• Degree in Science, Science Education, or related field
• At least 3 - 5 years’ experience in teaching or curriculum development (Secondary Science preferred)
• Good knowledge of MOE Secondary Science syllabuses and assessments
• Experience in curriculum design and educator support is an advantage
• Strong communication and analytical skills with a student-centred approach
• Passion for supporting low-income learners
• Willing to work evenings/weekends and travel between centres
