The Senior Analytical Science & Technology Manager is accountable for end-to-end analytical science and QC laboratory quality systems governance, ensuring robust analytical execution, compliant laboratory systems, and sustained inspection readiness in support of API manufacturing. 

This role integrates Analytical Sciences & Technology (AS&T) leadership with QC Quality Systems and Laboratory Systems ownership, providing a single point of accountability for analytical method lifecycle management, laboratory investigations, data integrity, and computerized laboratory systems. 

The incumbent ensures that analytical methods, laboratory processes, and core QC systems (e.g. LIMS/GLIMS, Empower, Lab X) are scientifically sound, compliant, effectively governed, and fit for routine operations, investigations, and regulatory submissions. Acting as both technical authority and QC systems owner, the role partners closely with Manufacturing, QA, Global Analytical functions, and Digital teams to deliver Right First Time (RFT) outcomes and operational excellence. 

Responsibilities

1. Analytical Sciences & Technology (AS&T) Leadership 

• Lead all Analytical Method Transfer Exercises (AMTE) for APIs transferring into, within, and out of the site. 
• Own the analytical method lifecycle, including development, validation, verification, compendial review impact assessments, and robustness improvements. 
• Ensure analytical approaches align with ICH guidance, PQS, and site SOPs. 
• Provide SME oversight for analytical troubleshooting, method failures, and complex laboratory investigations. 

2. QC Quality Systems & Laboratory Systems Ownership 

• Own and govern QC laboratory quality systems, including:

• CAPA definition and effectiveness

• Develop and validate PLC programs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Omron, Beckhoff) for automation, monitoring, and safety logic
• Perform PLC I/O validation, HMI integration, interlock testing, and system troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with SEMI S2, IEC 60204, ISO 12100, ASME B31.3, and fab safety requirements.

2. Sensor Architecture & Signal Electronics

• Define sensing architecture for flow, pressure, temperature, and valve position across smart gas platforms.
• Select sensing technologies including MEMS thermal sensors, differential pressure flow sensors, pressure sensors, RTDs, thermocouples, and position sensors.
• Design low noise analog front end circuits, excitation, biasing, filtering, and temperature compensation.
• Work with embedded teams on ADC selection, sampling strategy, synchronization, and firmware interfaces.
• Ensure EMI/EMC, ESD robustness, grounding, and electrical isolation suitable for fab environments

3. Mechanical, Fluidic & Materials Integration

• Define sensor placement within flow paths, valve bodies, and regulators.
• Minimize dead volume, flow disturbance, particle generation, and thermal gradients.
• Select materials compatible with UHP, corrosive gases, and high temperature operation.
• Collaborate on sealing concepts, surface finishes, and thermal management

4. Calibration, Reliability & Data

• Design factory and field calibration procedures.
• Generate calibration curves, compensation models, and gas correction factors.
• Characterize sensor drift, aging, cross sensitivity, and lifetime behavior.
• Support predictive maintenance and AI/ML based diagnostics using sensor datasets.

5. Testing, Validation & Manufacturing Support

• Build and operate electrical, flow, pressure, and thermal test setups.
• Perform accuracy, repeatability, stress, lifetime, and reliability testing.
• Conduct DFMEA/FMEA, safety analysis, and risk assessments.
• Support DFM, manufacturing test automation, and field issue resolution.
• Prepare electrical drawings, BOMs, test procedures, and qualification reports.

Education / Experience / Languages:

Required 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Instrumentation Engineering
• 7–12 years of experience in electrical systems, controls, and sensor engineering for industrial or semiconductor equipment
• Strong experience in PCBA design, analog/digital circuits, and sensor signal conditioning 
• Hands‑on PLC programming and system commissioning experience 
• Solid understanding of sensor calibration, drift, and long‑term stability 
• Experience with test setups, validation systems, and data analysis 

Preferred 

• Experience with HMI design and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, CAN, RS485) 
• Exposure to embedded microcontrollers and firmware‑sensor interfaces

Job Description Summary

The UHP Gas Component Design & Development Engineer will lead the design, development, and validation of Ultra-High Purity (UHP) gas delivery components used in semiconductor and advanced manufacturing applications.

The role requires deep technical expertise in fluid mechanics, precision machining, electropolished (EP) components, and industry compliance (ISO, SEMI, ASME).

This position qualifies under Singapore’s EP visa criteria, requiring advanced technical qualifications and specialized engineering experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop UHP-grade components — SMART pressure regulators, and SMART valves — ensuring electropolish (EP) compatibility, cleanliness, and long-term reliability.
• Perform 3D mechanical design and modelling using CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo) and simulation (FEA/CFD) for flow, pressure, and stress validation.
• Optimize flow path design for minimal particle generation and uniform flow characteristics in high-purity gas systems.
• Select and qualify materials (316L VIM-VAR, Hastelloy, etc.) meeting EP, SEMI, and ASTM standards.
• Define and execute qualification and reliability testing: leak rate, flow accuracy, endurance, thermal cycling, and surface roughness compliance (Ra ≤ 10 µin).
• Collaborate with process, electronics, and control engineers to integrate sensors and flow control elements for test and certification
• Ensure compliance with SEMI F19/F57, ISO 8573, and ASME B31.3.
• Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings, BOMs, test procedures, and reports.
• Coordinate with EP and BA tubing suppliers, cleanroom assembly teams, and QA for certification readiness.
• Support product qualification audits, failure analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Specialized Skills

• Knowledge of EP/BA surface finishing standards, UHP material certification, and clean assembly procedures.
• Experience in semiconductor gas systems, test system development, or precision fluid control.
• Exposure to supplier qualification and quality management systems (ISO 9001).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving approach with hands-on testing experience.

Education / Experience / Languages

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or related discipline from an accredited university.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience in UHP gas delivery component design or semiconductor equipment engineering.
• Proven expertise in UHP regulators, and valve mechanisms (concept to qualification).
• Proficient in SolidWorks/Creo and simulation tools (ANSYS, COMSOL, or CFD).
• Strong understanding of UHP component standards (ISO, SEMI, ASME) and EP process compatibility.
• Experience in cleanroom design, assembly validation, and leak testing (He leak rate <1×10⁻⁹ atm·cc/s preferred).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional, multicultural teams.
