Job Responsibilities
An Incoming Quality Control (IQC) Inspector verifies that raw materials, components, or chemicals from suppliers meet quality standards before they enter the production line, preventing defects. Key duties include sampling, conducting visual/dimensional inspections, testing materials, and documenting results.
- Inspection & Testing: Perform AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) inspections, visual checks, and dimensional checks on incoming raw materials. If required, may need to operate AOI equipment for 100% inspection on incoming core boards.
- Documentation: Record inspection results, maintain inspection logs, and generate reports, including non-conformance reports for failed materials.
- Non-Conforming Material Control: Identify, segregate, and place defective materials on hold to prevent use.
- Supplier Quality: Work with procurement and engineering teams to address quality issues with suppliers.
- Sampling: Perform aseptic sampling (if required) or standard sample testing based on inspection procedures if required.
Job Requirements
Customer support:
- In the event of receiving a complaint or returns due to a quality defect at a customer and contribute to an 8D reports to be submitted to the customer.
- Aggregate process control data according to a customer request and prepare its report.
- Additionally, support compiling a report on what is requested by a customer.
Process improvement:
- Monitor supplier’s critical parameters using SPC software by inputting critical values received from CoA and CoC.
Professional qualifications:
- Holding a ITE or equivalent in engineering, manufacturing technology or associated fields.
- It is favorable (promising) if having experiences of similar roles in incoming quality inspection environment at a semiconductor related manufacturer.
- Having experiences of working as a IQC inspector at a manufacturing plant is favorable.
Expertise and skills:
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for document creation.
- A basic knowledge of quality management systems (IATF, ISO, etc.).
- A basic knowledge of environmental, health and safety (EHS) management systems.
- A basic knowledge with chemical regulations (laws, SDS, GHS).
Competency:
- Able to listen effectively and to act appropriately in response to instructions given.
- Able to report necessary information, such as problems and production progress, to managers.
- Capable of making recommendations for improvement plan to reporting manager.
Attributes:
- Higher interpersonal ability and communication skills are essential for working with multiple departments and suppliers.
- A cooperative personality and good attitude are preferred.
Others:
- Normally, work the day shift on weekdays, but may be required to work on holidays as directed by your supervisor.
- May be required to work in a clean room environment.
