Job Responsibilities:
• Interpret and translate customer instructions into clear internal work instructions, ensuring alignment with quotations, specifications and referenced standards.
• Provide technical input to the Sales Administration Department to ensure accurate scoping of quotations and work orders.
• Liaise with customers to clarify test requirements, provide technical advice, and address queries related to sample preparation, testing methods, and turnaround times.
• Coordinate job scheduling between the Workshop and Test Departments, ensuring timely prioritization and readiness of samples.
• Support process improvements by reviewing SOPs and contributing to training and development initiatives for junior staff and workshop teams.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a laboratory operating under ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
• Strong understanding of metallic materials, alloy specifications, and chemical compositions (e.g., steel, stainless steel, nickel, cobalt, aluminium, titanium).
• Knowledge of welding processes, welding consumables, and material properties in industrial applications.
• Strong technical foundation in materials engineering and analytical testing techniques.
• Good communication and relationship -building skills with both internal teams and customers.
• Ability to explain technical topics clearly and provide effective recommendations.
• Certifications such as CWI or CSWIP 3.1, and PCN Level 2 in Visual Inspection will be advantageous.
