ROLESUMMARY
The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across on-premises and cloud environments. The role focuses on infrastructure operations, system reliability, and compliance within mission-critical and regulated environments.
KEYRESPONSIBILITIES
· Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, storage, networks, and virtualization platforms.
· Manage and monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity.
· Administer operating systems, servers, and enterprise systems across environments.
· Implement and support cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions.
· Configure and maintain network components including LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.
· Ensure high availability(HA), backup, and disaster recovery (DR) mechanisms are in place and tested.
· Perform system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
· Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and provide L2/L3 support.
· Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using scripting and IaC tools.
· Collaborate with security, DevOps, and application teams for system integration.
· Maintain infrastructure documentation, diagrams, and standard procedures.
· Ensure adherence to SLAs, operational processes, and governance standards.
TECHNICALSKILLS & TOOLS
· Infrastructure: Servers, storage (SAN/NAS), virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
· Operating Systems: Windows Server, Linux/Unix
· Cloud: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud (IaaS/PaaS)
· Networking: TCP/IP, DNS,DHCP, VPN, firewalls, load balancers
· Automation & DevOps: Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash
· Monitoring: Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana
· Containers (Basic): Docker, Kubernetes
SECURITY& COMPLIANCE
· Implement infrastructure security controls (hardening, patching, access control).
· Ensure compliance with ISO27001, NIST/CIS, and organizational policies.
· Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and support remediation activities.
· Participate in audits and ensure secure infrastructure operations.
QUALIFICATIONS& EXPERIENCE
· Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
· 4–8 years of experience in IT infrastructure or system engineering.
· Experience in enterprise or regulated environments preferred.
· Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
PREFERRED(GOOD TO HAVE)
· Certifications such as VMware (VCP), Microsoft, AWS, or Azure.
· Experience with hybrid cloud and infrastructure modernization.
· Exposure to Zero Trust architecture and network security practices.
· Experience in automation-driven infrastructure environments.
