We are the New Product Introduction (NPI) test engineering team defining and providing test solutions for AMD’s Data Center Graphics (DCG) under the Product Engineering Organization. We deliver leading-edge product development for exciting technology that will power the next generation processors used for high performance computing, data centers, enterprise servers, and Artificial Intelligence clusters.

As a Director/Senior Manager SLT Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for grow and develop high performance SLT team to drive SLT solutions to address upcoming technology development, NPI business milestones and KPI (test time, yield, cost, quality). The expectation is to be in a position of leadership ,collaborating with architecture and design teams, Product & Test Engineering teams, Customer Quality teams, software & platform teams to come up with the best solution that balance quality and cost. THE PERSON:

We are looking for someone with strong technical, analytical, leadership and problem-solving skills, as well as demonstrating the characteristic of an independent and resourceful individual. You must have a proficient understanding of x86 CPU and GPU architecture and functionality, as well as a broad understanding of various industry standard bus protocols, such as DDR, PCIe, and USB.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accountable to drive and develop SLT solutions to meet business milestone, cost and quality in system level area.
• Solves complex, novel, and non-recurring problems; initiates significant changes to existing processes/methods and leads development and implementation
• Conduct engineering evaluations and analysis to drive closure of production issues
• Develop and architect SLT logging or data collection flow in manufacturing
• Influences technical decisions that have a significant impact on final product
• Involves collaboration on or assuming the consultative or leadership responsibilities for a specific project or for product development initiatives
• May provide technical supervision or mentoring junior engineers
• Upscale overall team capabilities on low level system debug for AMD data center product families

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge and industry experience on GPU architecture, X86 architecture, SoC design and power management features
• Experience with SOC (System-On-Chip), Firmware and Software interaction
• Software programming and scripting proficiency (Java, Shell script, Perl, Ruby, Python)
• Proficiency in Windows, and Linux operating systems
• Experience with HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) or HSIO (High Speed Input Output) is a strong plus
• Experience with HVM (High Volume Manufacturing) is a strong plus
• Experience with data center infrastructure is a strong plus
• Strong and effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work with geographically distributed product engineering teams
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor/Master in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or comparable disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Product Definition – Drive the customer working backwards strategy, tenets, long-term goals and working backwards documents (press release, FAQ) including customer feedback, competitive analysis and business metrics to inform direction. E.g., evaluate new use-cases for distributed scheduling, new continuous deployment product.
• Define Product Roadmap – Including all aspects to future roadmap, investment, innovation, and experimentation.
• Execution of Product Planning and Development – Including customer goals and business requirements for product release, ensuring implementation is aligned with product goals and requirements, and ownership of product positioning.
• Drive Product Launch – Drive GTM delivery, ensuring the customer and business goals are met in operational launch plans.
• Lead Operations – Including monitoring and response to customer feedback, continuous improvement and adoption.
• Lead interaction with Technical Team – Including helping the technical team make tradeoffs based on customer requirements, QA/testing of the product.
• Influence senior leaders across the firm for the product’s vision, strategy, goals, status, and customer impact.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• Min. 7 years of previous work experience as a Product Manager, preferably in a technical product management role
• Demonstrated success collaborating with design and engineering peers to lead a product development team
• Comfortable with Agile processes, with an emphasis on creating backlogs that support the product roadmap
• Proven ability to influence and/or lead a cross-functional team without direct authority
• Ability to translate customer needs into a product roadmap
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex problems and roadmaps to stakeholders
• Ability to define a value driven business case for new products and KPIs to track success of new product
• Ability to engage with and influence stakeholders outside their direct control
• Proven ability to lead by example, with a positive attitude
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to set goals, meet deadlines, and effectively communicate progress to stakeholders
• Must have experience with managing client expectations and communicating effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Highly organized, attention to detail and excellent follow through skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing an entire product's lifecycle, from conception to launch
• Experience working with distributed scheduling platforms and large-scale compute 
• Solid technical foundation in software development and delivery
• Experience managing day-to-day technical and design direction
• Knowledge of multiple functional areas such as product management, engineering, user experience, user research, sales, trading, treasury, customer support or marketing
• Experience with Amazon’s Working Backwards process and drafting narratives/PRFaqs in clear, concise manner
• Familiar with machine learning and data products

Job Requirements:
