• Lead and mentor multiple development teams responsible for Passenger, Driver, and Dispatch systems.
• Set technical direction, development standards, and architectural guidelines across platforms.
• Oversee day-to-day engineering execution including design reviews, code quality, testing, and deployment readiness.
• Drive engineering excellence through continuous improvement, automation, and adoption of modern engineering practices.

2. System Architecture & Solutioning

• Own the technical roadmap and ensure systems are scalable, robust, and optimized for real-time operations.
• Provide architectural guidance for new features, system enhancements, and integration across internal platforms.
• Lead modernization initiatives, including refactoring of legacy services and migration toward cloud-native, microservices-based architecture (where applicable).

3. Product & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with Product, Operations, and Business teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Prioritize enhancements and improvements based on customer impact, service reliability, and operational needs.
• Ensure timely delivery of features and improvements while maintaining system stability.

4. Platform Reliability & Performance

• Oversee the health, performance, and availability of the Passenger/Driver apps and Dispatch system.
• Ensure appropriate monitoring, alerting, observability and incident response processes are in place.
• Lead post-incident reviews and drive long-term corrective actions.

5. People Leadership

• Build a high-performing engineering culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Provide coaching, career development, and performance management for team leads and engineers.
• Grow and scale the engineering team as business needs evolve.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• At least 8 years of software engineering experiences, preferably with at least 5 years leading engineering teams.
• Strong background in backend development (e.g., Java/Spring Boot, RESTful services).
• Solid understanding of real-time systems, distributed systems, messaging queues, and API design.
• Experience with frontend development with ReactJS
• Experience with mobile app ecosystems (iOS/Android), backend services, and cloud platforms (AWS) is preferred
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and observability tools.
• Exposure to microservices, event-driven architectures (Kafka, Redis Streams), and high-throughput systems.
• Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to drive decisions, manage complexity, and balance technical depth with business priorities.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering improvements to large-scale or mission-critical systems.
• Preferred experience in mobility, transport, dispatching algorithms, or real-time booking systems.

Key Responsibilities

Software Systems Oversight
• Oversee the design, development, and evaluation of software systems usedacross Liquid’s core payment and AI-first platforms.
• Guide the selection or adoption of new software solutions, ensuring they meet organisational requirements in performance, security, compliance, andscalability.

Quality, Performance & Delivery Governance
• Monitor the results and quality of software solutions generated both manuallyand through AI-assisted development tools.
• Establish quality gates across the SDLC to ensure all software projects andsystem enhancements meet architectural, security, and regulatory standards.
• Review completed features and system updates to verify functional accuracy,performance benchmarks, and alignment with product objectives.

Technical Leadership & Proof-of-Concept Development
• Oversee the development of Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) for new features,architectures, and platform capabilities.
• Provide technical expertise and advice to the Product Owner and engineeringteams on feasibility, risks, solution options, and architectural trade-offs.
• Validate that all POCs and proposed solutions appropriately address security,resilience, and risk considerations.

AI-First Development Enablement
• Translate enriched BRDs/PRDs into structured, reusable prompts for theAI-first IDE, ensuring they accurately represent requirements and constraints.
• Maintain and evolve prompt templates, architectural blueprints, and coding standards to ensure consistency across AI-generated output.

Architecture, Standards & System Integrity
• Maintain Liquids technical rulebook, architectural patterns, approvedframeworks, and system design guidelines.
• Ensure software systems—whether AI-generated or manually engineered—adhere to established principles, NFRs, and platform strategy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner closely with the Product Owner, Product Committee, DevOps, andengineering teams to ensure seamless transition from business requirements totechnical execution.
• Coach engineers on interpreting AI-generated artefacts and applyingarchitectural standards throughout development.

Requirements
• Experience as a Software Developer, System Analyst, Solution Architect,Technical BA, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, microservices, and cloudarchitectures (AWS preferred).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Windsurf, GitHubCopilot) or willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of secure coding, performance tuning, and non-functionalrequirements.
• Excellent ability to interpret business requirements and translate them intotechnical specifications and prompts.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Nice to Have
• Experience configuring enterprise IDEs or coding guidelines for teams.
• Exposure to automated testing, CI/CD, and DevSecOps.
• Familiarity with compliance regimes (PCI DSS, GDPR, ISO27001).
