About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our team at Kim's Dental Clinic. This full-time position is crucial in supporting our dentists and ensuring the smooth running of our dental practice. As a Dental Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and assisting with a variety of dental procedures.

What you'll be doing

1. Ensure high standard of infection control and other quality control measures

2. Assist in preparing, sterilising of dental instruments and environment pre and post procedures

3. Liaise closely with patients and build good rapport with patients

4. Able to work in one location and multiple locations in future

5. Assist dentist in their day to day work

6. Book appointments and discharge patients

7. 44 hours/week including weekends and nights

What we're looking for

1. Preferably NITEC in Dental Assisting or Certificate in Health Care Assistance Course

2. Prefer qualification at least GCE 'N' Level or equivalent

3. We welcome those without prior experience

4. Fluency in both spoken and written English

5. Proficiency in Chinese will receive extra consideration

Job Responsibilities

• Co-operate with doctors and other health-care providers in the smooth delivery of services to patients.
• Ensure that all procedures scheduled for patients are performed well and to oversee the Lab’s smooth operations daily.

• Perform a variety of pulmonary function tests and sweat testing as requested by clinicians.

• Perform allergy tests as requested by clinicians.
• Monitor and optimise utilisation of procedure rooms.
• Responsible for preliminary test reporting, record results in computer system and ensure reports are given to the doctor-in-charge to vet.
• Ensure accuracy and reproducibility in the performance of each test and accurate documentation of results within stipulated timeframe.
• Coordinate with various departments /clinics/wards on urgent requests for Lung Function test and Allergy test procedures as ordered by doctors.
• Ensure maintenance and replacement of Lab equipment, instruments and inventories on fixed assets are carried out and properly documented.
• Ensure that stock inventory and consumables are adequately maintained, replenished and that there is proper and economical usage.
• Initiate, follow up and complete procurement of skin prick extracts, lancets and other equipment in a timely manner to ensure that there are no preventable stock shortages and all extracts are within validity period.
• Ensure that all equipment and instruments are checked / calibrated and in good working condition including emergency equipment.

• Assist in patients’ registration and make appointments.
• Lead or participate in service quality activities / program.
• Attend in-service lectures and course.
• Keep a statistical report of the lab’s output.
• Any additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor(s).

Job Requirements

• Min Diploma in Biomedical Science / Biotechnology.
• 2 - 3 years of related work experience in clinical service preferred.
• Have good computer literacy.
• Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, willingness to learn, have good initiative and be self-motivated.
• Keen to work with children in a clinical environment.
