Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements of a HSEQ Engineer:

• Ideally, you will be educated to diploma/degree level and will be fully experienced in the ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 / Quality Management Systems (QMS) compliance/ implementation and certification process.
• Experience in handling internal and external audits and certification processes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality data and trends.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control practices is preferred.

Reporting to Plant Assistant Electrical & Instrument (E&I) Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing E&I equipment for production plant, managing E&I contractors and ensuring all E&I maintenance activities are carried out efficiently and safely in compliance with local regulations and plant HSE requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and schedule all maintenance works, including work and safety procedures, labour & equipment, spare parts and material requirements
• Ensure daily, periodical and shutdown maintenance works are carried out in safe, timely and efficient manner
• Carry out engineering studies of E&I works in modifications, revamping or upgrading of plant facilities to reduce plant trouble

Requirements:

Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer

Job Description
The Staff Engineer, Process Development & Sustaining will lead the development, optimization, and sustaining of manufacturing processes for WD's HDD storage products. This is a technically deep, cross-functional role requiring strong foundation in chemistry, materials science, or chemical engineering.

You will drive process characterization, chemical/material qualification, and yield improvement initiatives while ensuring manufacturing processes remain stable, compliant, and cost-competitive. You are expected to operate with high technical autonomy, interface with global R&D and process teams, and mentor junior engineers on the Penang floor.

This role is ideal for a PhD's, or Master's graduate in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science who is passionate about translating lab-scale science into high-volume manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Process Development

• Design and develop new manufacturing processes or significantly improve existing ones for HDD production
• Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) to characterize process windows, identify critical process parameters (CPPs), and optimize process outputs
• Evaluate and qualify new chemicals, materials, and process consumables for manufacturing use
• Develop process recipes, control plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

About The Role

We value the importance of having a robust engineering team that would serve as a key pillar for sustained commercial success. To that end, we are looking for a Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer to join us on this journey. In this role, you will be part of our fast-paced, fast-growing team and will take ownership of your role from the get-go. You will be planning, performing and documenting the system verification, integration and validation activities of our robotic system. You will be testing the requirements of our surgical robot to ensure that the product functions as intended. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team composed of mechanical, electrical, software and clinical engineers to develop the necessary test setups, protocols and reports. • Solid understanding of standards such as IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2 and ISO 14971 is an advantage.
• Proven experience in developing and executing design verification protocols, generating test reports within a New Product Development (NPD) environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and ability to interpret technical drawings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute testing and commissioning activities for large-scale solid waste management projects including Waste to Energy (WTE), sludge incineration, materials recovery, and food waste treatment facilities
