• Working knowledge of VMware vSphere 4.x and above
• Working knowledge of SAN Storage management
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent work experience

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience working in a government agency
• Experience with installation and operation of Windows Servers (2003/2008/2012), software, and backup solutions in large enterprise environments
• Knowledge of server hardware and equipment such as HP, IBM, Dell servers, and HP/IBM SAN
• Familiarity with deep-level Windows Server OS troubleshooting and problem resolution
• Familiarity with enterprise virus protection software
• Familiarity with major systems monitoring software and its functionality
• Some automation and scripting experience
• SAN storage knowledge
• Reasonable leadership and interpersonal skills
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to independently solve and troubleshoot problems
• Self-motivated, customer-oriented, and a team player in project settings
