NUS Centre for Additive Manufacturing (AM.NUS) is inviting applications for the position of Research Engineer in AI-Driven Autonomous and Smart Manufacturing, with a focus on Additive Manufacturing (AM). 

•    Develop AI-driven frameworks that integrate LLMs, agentic AI, and multimodal foundation models for autonomous and smart manufacturing applications, with emphasis on additive manufacturing.

Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will be responsible for conducting design and development of sensor networks and Internet-of-Things (IOT) systems for in-home sensing and machine learning models for analyzing digital biomarkers and human activity data for the purpose of cognitive health monitoring and wellbeing analysis. Successful candidate will join an active research team led by Prof TAN Ah Hwee from School of Computing and Information Systems, Singapore ManagementUniversity.

Candidate's core responsibilities are:

• Project administration, user management
• Design, deployment and maintenance of sensor networks and Internet of Things (IOT) system for in-home sensing of human behaviour and activities
• Integration of in-home sensors, home gateway, and backend cloud servers for data collection
• Development of software for digital biomarker feature extraction and data analytics
• Building of machine learning and predictive models based on digital biomarkers and spatial temporal data
• Documentation and preparation of technical reports
• Other duties as assigned

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or closely related disciplines from an nstitution of higher learning
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant research experience with sensors, Internet-of Things, data analytics, artificial intelligence, or related fields
• Good analytical, technical and problem solving skills
• Knowledge/Proficiency in hardware sensors, cloud computing, networking and programming languages, such as Python, Java and C/C++• Competency in application prototype design and development
• Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position is for Centre on Security, Mobile Applications and Cryptography (SMC).
• Develop and enhance software supply chain security products.
• Write high quality core code based on product and technical requirements, conduct in depth technical research, and resolve complex engineering issues.
• Independently design, develop, and deliver system modules, while producing technical documentation in accordance with engineering standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or closely related disciplines from a reputable institution of higher learning.
• At least 1 year of hands on experience in Go (Golang) development.
• Solid understanding of network protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, and TCP, with knowledge of network proxy principles, packet capture and analysis, and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Proficiency in Linux development environments.
• Familiarity with container and orchestration technologies, including Docker, Podman, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and independently solve technical problems. Preferred Qualifications.
• Experience with Java development in addition to Go.
• Prior experience developing cybersecurity or network security related products.
