The Social Work Associate is a support role in the field of social work. He / She assist to implement programme and perform community development activities and outreach. He / She also assumes a secondary role in case management through providing support to caseworkers.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide Information & Referral (I&R) services in line with FSC guidelines and standards.

· Conduct intake assessments for new clients according to FSC service standards.

· Handle mainline calls, walk-in enquiries, and front desk duties when required.

· Organize and participate in community outreach initiatives.

· Assist in assessing community needs and liaise with external stakeholders for publicity and networking.

· Support development and implementation of community initiatives from MSF or within the agency.

· Assist in planning and preparation of community group work.

· Assist in programme development and execution, including logistical and administrative support.

· Support volunteer management in collaboration with the agency’s volunteer manager.

· Manage and monitor low/no-risk cases and ensure compliance with case work processes and timelines.

· Compile quarterly statistics, track case work KPIs, and prepare data for MSF tracking requirements.

· Provide administrative support for practice observations and centre operations.

· Undertake other duties as assigned by supervisor or HOD.

Requirements

· Minimum Diploma in Social Work

· Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

· Conversant in English and any 2nd language

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

Your daily work will revolve around people, purpose, and community – including:

Creating Enjoyable Experiences

· Supporting group activities that help seniors stay active mentally, socially, and physically

· Encouraging participation and making every senior feel included and valued

· Assisting with simple health checks under supervision

Building Relationships

· Engage seniors with warmth and patience

· Offer friendly support to those with mild mobility or cognitive needs

· Be a familiar, trusted presence in the centre

Ensuring Smooth Centre Operations

· Maintain an organised, safe, and welcoming environment

· Support daily operational routines and emergency preparedness

· Work closely with volunteers and staff to ensure programmes run efficiently

Providing Strong Administrative Support

· Handle programme documentation, attendance tracking, and basic reporting

· Manage inventory, materials, and simple logistics
· Support volunteer coordination and administrative tasks

· Use digital tools such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Canva to support centre operations

Roles and Responsibilities

a. Programme & Activity Support

· Monitor and record client health status (vital signs, height, weight, BMI) under supervision.

· Encourage and facilitate client participation in structured group activities.

· Assist in implementing programmes and activities, including those with external partners.

· Help plan and conduct social activities to promote engagement and well-being.

· Perform stock checking, inventory, and housekeeping duties for programme materials.

· Perform basic documentation and programme records.

b. Engagement with Clients

· Engage seniors warmly and respectfully, encouraging participation in centre activities.

· Support seniors during activities, including those with mobility or mild cognitive challenges.

· Escalate concerns, incidents, or behavioural issues to the Community Care Executive or Community Care Lead promptly.

c. Centre Operations Management

· Maintain certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED (or be willing to obtain).

· Comply with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) procedures and support emergency preparedness.

· Adhere to organisational SOPs and incident reporting protocols.

· Assist during emergencies as directed by trained staff.

d. Volunteer Management

· Assist volunteers during programme delivery.

· Provide logistical and administrative support for volunteer activities.

e. Personal Career Development

· Takes initiative and ownership of personal growth, identifying agenda during supervision sessions and courses of interest relating to scope of work to attend.

f. Other Duties

· Perform any other responsibilities assigned by Management and Head of Department (HOD)

REACH Family Service is a community based social service agency commissioned and funded by the Ministry of Social and Family Development. We serve vulnerable and low-income families and individuals residing in the Bishan, Sin Ming, Shunfu and Thomson vicinity. The role of the Social Worker is to provide support for low-income and/or vulnerable individuals and families with social and emotional issues, and work towards stability, self-reliance and social mobility.

He / She is responsible to develop and implement intervention plans according to professional judgement and knowledge, conduct casework and group work as well as implement and evaluate community development activities and programmes to address service gaps in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide casework intervention, counselling and information & referral to families in line with REACH FSC Guidelines and MSF’S Services and Practice Standards for FSC.

· Attend to callers/walk-ins and refer clients to appropriate agencies.

· Maintain timely and detailed case recordings.

· Ensure KPIs and standards of C&C are met.

· Participate in supervision sessions and maintain proper recording of supervision, especially for risk cases.

· Undertake supervision of interns, if assigned.

· Develop, plan, lead, and evaluate evidence-based programmes/ group work with research components.

· Network and collaborate with other organization/community stakeholders in planning and implementation of programme/group work.

· Undertake additional responsibilities such as committee work for agency initiatives.

Requirements

· Possess a Degree in Social Work or Graduate Diploma in Social Work

· Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

· Registered with Social Work Accreditation and Advisory Board

· Proficient in English and at least one other language

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
