Job Summary

The Group Internal Audit & Investigations (GIAI) at Standard Chartered Bank is seeking a strong Senior Audit Manager to join the Information and Cyber Security (ICS) team. The role requires solid technical expertise across identity and access management, vulnerability management, code security, security operations, threat intelligence, red and purple teaming, penetration testing, and ICS standards such as NIST and CIS, along with risk management experience. Exposure to AI security and digital assets is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

• Support the HOA in the development of the GIA risk assessment and development of an appropriate audit plan for the assigned portfolio;

• Propose audits for coverage during the audit cycle based on their knowledge of the business;

• Carry out their role in line with the Audit Charter and remain independent from management and free from interference; and

• Provide clear, effective supervision and leadership to the audit teams and champion the implementation of the strategy.

Business

• Perform, support, or lead where directed, the planning, fieldwork, and reporting of internal audit engagements to deliver agreed assurance objectives to established GIA standards and timelines; and

• Deliver audits/assignments within budget and drive efficiency to support cost save objectives;

Processes

• Act as Team Manager or Team Lead to lead the delivery of high risk audits with integrated teams;

• Execute audit work and issue validation in an efficient and effective manner, within the given budget and timelines;

• Provide clear guidance, detailed review and supervision of the audit team’s work, so that audit deliverables meet quality standards;

• Clearly identify the risks and impact of issues during issue writing, agreeing these issues with management and obtaining quality management action plans to mitigate the risk;

• Provide guidance to the team on business/ audit technical knowledge and management skills;

• Champion innovation and increase the use of leading edge methods, such as artificial intelligence and data analytics, in audit assignments; and

• Track the implementation/delivery of the agreed issues and action plans for the audits assigned, understanding the key risks arising, provide advice on resolution of issues to auditees/action plan owners and escalate audit findings that remain unresolved.

People and Talent

• Share knowledge, skills and experience with team members and the wider GIA and provide advisory to internal auditors from both business and technology on Information and Cyber Security;

• Assist in conducting training sessions for GIA Stakeholders on topics related to Information and Cyber Security;

• Support the function in audit talent development and career growth;

• Contribute to building a high performing collaborative function through regular feedback and coaching;

Risk Management

• Complete relevant risk assessment activities in a timely and effective manner, including the completion of the Risk Assessment template;

• Assist in continuous auditing and monitoring of key risks in Information and Cyber Security; and

• Follow changes in the laws and regulations to identify emerging risks.

Governance

• Assist the HOA to manage the relevant Product/Country clients, and establish good working relationships to help the businesses improve the control environment and keep updated with changes in the business impacting their risk profile;

• Ensure clear communication of findings/issues/root causes to all relevant clients and monitor/escalate any overdue actions plans to the appropriate business manager and/or governance committee for resolution; and

• Ensure timely escalation of delays in execution of audit work, both to auditee management and GIA management.

Regulatory and Business Conduct

• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct;

MISSION:

Project Overview

The "Mens, Manus and Machina—How AI Empowers People, Institutions and Cities in Singapore (M3S)" five-year project was initiated in July 2023. It is driven by the goal of investigating the nature of work, redefining our relationship with technology, and exploring how institutions can adapt to foster liveability, sustainability, innovation, and social welfare.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that aim to develop state-of-the-art AI to create future smart cities. This Postdoctoral Associate position is until June 2028 under the M3S program at SMART. The SMART team seeks to advance the frontier of AI research, apply it to society and cities, and demonstrate the concrete social impacts of the AI algorithms with broad public acceptance in Singapore.

Responsibilities

The SMART-T7 project concerns the design of human-machine systems for the scheduling and allocation of valuable resources in ways that accommodate and optimize for the needs and capabilities of both humans and machines. The project aims to solve diverse use cases in a broad set of application contexts.

The management of large-scale service and infrastructure systems—such as airport operations, urban mobility, last-mile logistics, robotic fleet management and other smart city applications—requires making tightly coupled scheduling and resource allocation decisions under significant operational complexity. These systems are characterized by high-dimensional, combinatorial decision spaces (e.g., assigning flights to gates, vehicles to multi-service tasks, lockers to dynamic demand, or robotic agents to coupled tasks), where interactions and coordination requirements between entities—such as connecting passengers, pooled service requests, customer time windows, and robotic tasks—often introduce intractable structures. At the same time, decision-makers must balance multiple, often conflicting objectives across stakeholders, including efficiency, reliability, and equity, while accounting for dynamic and stochastic demand patterns. The project addresses these challenges through a combination of advanced optimization methods (e.g., flow-based models that strengthen tractability, decomposition methods), learning-enhanced approximations (e.g., embedding-based representations of complex interactions, passenger flow estimation using generative techniques), and artificial intelligence (e.g., AI-powered digital twin simulations). Together, these approaches enable scalable, real-time decision-making in complex environments, while explicitly capturing trade-offs between operational performance and user-centric outcomes, such as passenger experience, system utilization, and service responsiveness.

The SMART-T7 team is led by Professors Alexandre Jacquillat, Jinhua Zhao, Hamsa Balakrishnan, Amedeo Odoni, and Jason Jackson from MIT, and Professor Hai Wang from Singapore Management University.

The successful candidate will work closely with Professors Alexandre Jacquillat (MIT), Hai Wang (Singapore Management University) and Bo Lin (National University of Singapore). The broad objective of the research will be to harness the power of operations research, AI, data science, and other disciplines to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of human-machine systems. The primary application areas are smart city operations and robotic fleet management. The research will work at the interface of large-scale optimization, data-driven decision-making, the AI-optimization interface, and digital twin simulation. Responsibilities
• To participate in discussion with relevant user function stakeholders across Group Finance, Accounting Reconciliation, Treasury Operations to understand their Accounting specific requirements to perform accounting configuration in Murex system

• To understand end to end product life cycle, economic events that happen in the life cycle of various financial products across asset classes, to go through and understand Accounting templates shared by Group finance detailing various economic events / market operations to be handled for a given financial product and ensuring the Accounting solution built covers all the mentioned scenarios

• To prepare draft Technical Specification document, Functional specification document for accounting module based on user requirement and walk through for various user functions on the same

• To perform first level of validation (SIT) on the Accounting set up provided by Murex wrt to the accounting templates shared by user

Job Responsibilities:

1. Progress claims handling

• Track and manage progress claims billing and final accounts tracking.
