Role Overview
The Cost Manager will be responsible for delivering full lifecycle cost management services for a large‑scale advanced manufacturing facility construction project.
The role focuses on ensuring cost certainty, commercial control, and value optimisation across complex construction works, including CSA, MEP, cleanroom environments, and process infrastructure. You will work in a highly technical, fast‑paced environment supporting the delivery of mission‑critical facilities to exacting quality and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Planning & Pre‑Contract Services
- Prepare and manage cost estimates, feasibility studies, and detailed cost plans across all project stages.
- Provide cost advice during design development, including materials, construction methodologies, and high‑tech facility requirements.
- Support value engineering initiatives to optimise cost, performance, and constructability.
Procurement & Tender Management
- Prepare tender documentation for CSA, MEP, and specialist packages.
- Manage tender processes including tender clarifications, evaluation, commercial analysis, and recommendations.
- Support procurement strategies aligned with fast‑track and complex project delivery environments.
Post‑Contract Cost Management
- Manage variations, change control, and claim assessments throughout construction.
- Review contractor progress claims and certify interim payments.
- Maintain cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
- Support final account negotiation and project close‑out.
Cost Reporting & Financial Control
- Prepare regular cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial updates.
- Identify cost risks, trends, and mitigation measures.
- Ensure compliance with project financial governance and reporting standards.
Technical & Project Coordination
- Work closely with project teams across CSA, MEP, cleanroom, and process system scopes.
- Support coordination between engineering, construction, and procurement functions.
- Provide commercial input during design coordination and site meetings.
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project objectives.
- Participate in key project meetings and contribute to decision‑making from a commercial perspective.
Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with project controls, procedures, and audit requirements.
- Identify and proactively manage cost and commercial risks.
- Maintain accuracy and transparency in all cost management deliverabl
