Position Overview

The Chief Marketing Officer will provide strategic leadership and leverage their technical expertise to guide the company’s development, ensuring that operations align with Blue Star Tech’s vision, mission and sustainability goals. This role is responsible for overseeing corporate governance, driving strategic expansion into the China market and collaborating with key stakeholders to foster innovation and maintain the company’s industry leadership in low-carbon technologies and sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic direction to ensure the achievement of the company’s vision, mission and long-term objectives.
• Lead the formulation and execution of the company’s China market strategy, including R&D innovation and low-carbon solutions.
• Ensure robust corporate governance and strict compliance with all relevant laws and regulatory requirements.
• Drive operational excellence by continuously optimizing internal management processes to enhance organizational efficiency and performance.
• Establish and maintain long-term relationships with clients, partners and international institutions, actively expanding the business footprint, with a focus on growth opportunities in China and the Asia-Pacific region.
• Oversee overall business performance, analyze key metrics, identify potential risks in a timely manner and report to the Founder & CEO.
• Mentor and develop senior management and department heads to build a high-performing, collaborative and continuously growing leadership team.
• Represent the company at industry conferences, high-level forums and public affairs activities to enhance brand image and industry influence.

Qualifications & Key Competencies

• Strong track record in market expansion and corporate governance, with experience serving as a CEO or Director in a company of at least 30 employees for a minimum of three months. Candidates with a background in low-carbon technology, energy or sustainability are preferred.
• Holder of at least three registered patents related to energy efficiency and carbon reduction technologies within the Asia-Pacific region.
• In-depth understanding of low-carbon technologies, carbon asset management and sustainable business models, with proven experience leading teams to deliver green transformation and sustainability consulting services to at least 10 manufacturing companies with annual revenues exceeding SGD 1 million.
• Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to define clear directions in complex environments.
• Strong communication, negotiation and cross-cultural interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of achieving cumulative sales exceeding SGD 1 million in the China market and fluency in Chinese for client engagement.
• Ability to inspire, lead and integrate diverse teams, fostering both organizational success and individual growth.

About the Role

We are looking for a driven and commercially-minded individual to join us as an Associate Director, Strategy & Corporate Development to support and execute the firm’s strategic growth initiatives across global markets.

This role sits at the core of Alta’s expansion strategy, with a focus on M&A, strategic investments, partnerships, and market development. You will work closely with senior management to evaluate opportunities, execute transactions, and support key initiatives that drive the firm’s long-term growth.

Some Of The Key Responsibilities Include

M&A and Strategic Execution

• Support the identification, evaluation, and execution of M&A, investment, and partnership opportunities
• Conduct financial analysis, valuation, and due diligence across potential transactions
• Assist in managing end-to-end deal processes from initial assessment through to execution

Strategy & Market Development

• Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and identify growth opportunities across regions
• Support strategic planning initiatives, including new market entry and business expansion
• Develop a strong understanding of Alta’s business lines and the broader alternative investments landscape

Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with senior management, founders, and internal teams to drive strategic initiatives
• Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders including investors, partners, and advisors
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment and execution across business units

Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare investment memos, presentations, and materials for senior management and the Board
• Support internal reporting, business case development, and decision-making processes

About You

• Minimum 5 years of experience in investment banking, Big 4 corporate finance, corporate development, or strategy roles. Exposure to the technology and/or fintech sector is preferred.

• Proven track record in building complex financial models (e.g. LBO, M&A, NPV/cash flow, partnership structures) and conducting valuation analyses to support strategic transactions.

• Hands-on experience in transaction execution, including mergers & acquisitions, partnerships, or similar strategic initiatives.

• Strong understanding of financial services, fintech, and/or private markets is advantageous.

• Highly analytical with strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple workstreams independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

4. The candidate should ideally have market-related connections as a value-added consideration. This would bring more potential opportunities for the company in terms of external collaborations. The candidate is also required to provide a high level of performance in terms of market research of other similar direct competitors and help to develop a competitive edge for the company.
