The team of Prof Loh Kian Ping is seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to lead the development of a miniaturized, on-chip polarimeter based on chiral 2D Halide Organic-Inorganic Perovskites for full Stokes vector detection. The candidate will focus on optical simulation, cleanroom nanofabrication, device integration, optoelectronic testing, and machine learning-driven signal reconstruction. 

Note: This role focuses on device engineering and computation; independent material synthesis is not required. 

Key Responsibilities:
•    Design & Simulation: Model sub-wavelength polarization-selective metasurfaces using electromagnetic simulation tools (FDTD/FEM) to establish optoelectronic eigenvectors.

• Contribute to assigned analytics workstreams and projects, including data analytics projects and digital dashboard development for industry partners, hospitals, aged care homes, and non-profit organisations, encompassing proposal development, partner engagement, analytics scoping, and project documentation.
• Coordinate assigned workstreams within the team's innovation portfolio, supporting the delivery and deployment of new or improved products, processes, and services to healthcare and community organisations, while monitoring implementation, adoption, and analytics evidence to support value-capture documentation.
• Support training, demonstration, and workshop delivery for company employees and healthcare professionals, contributing to the team's capability-building and knowledge-transfer goals.
• Role-specific skill focus — Data Analytics and Digital Dashboards: clean, structure, analyse, visualise and report health/service data; develop dashboards, KPI trackers and management reports; support evidence for KPI and project-outcome reporting, including outreach to companies and/or healthcare providers; and translate data insights into practical recommendations for Professional Officers, faculty, project leads and healthcare partners.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years experience OR Master's degree with 2+ years experience in Nursing, Health Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Research, or a related field or related disciplines with relevant experience in research, engineering, product development, or healthcare innovation related work.
• Strong knowledge and experience in clinical workflows, particularly in hospitals, nursing homes, home-based care, palliative care settings and other community care settings.
• Hands-on experience in clinical validation studies, including patient needs assessment and usability testing, is highly advantageous.
• Possess understanding of healthcare innovation concepts (e.g., commercialisation, care automation, health economics).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Resourceful, meticulous and problem-solving attitude.
• Experience supporting or coordinating industry or applied research projects, preferably involving healthcare, community care, aged care, allied health, digital health, clinical workflow optimisation or healthcare innovation solutions.
• Ability to document project outputs, implementation progress, stakeholder benefits and other measurable outcomes for assigned work.
• Experience supporting project proposals, funded projects or partner engagements will be advantageous.
• For this Data Analytics and Digital Dashboards role, relevant experience in data analytics, dashboard development, business intelligence, data visualisation, health/service data management, KPI tracking, data cleaning, statistical or operational reporting, or equivalent analytics tools and methods is required.
• All Research Fellow / Research Engineer must possess project-management skills and experience managing or coordinating projects/workstreams with good outcomes delivered, including scope, timeline, stakeholder coordination, risk/issue tracking and documentation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop, evaluate, and optimize treatment and handling processes for existing, new, and unknown waste streams, ensuring technical feasibility and cost-effectiveness.

• Design and implement resource recovery processes from waste streams to enhance sustainability and value creation.

• Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to understand waste sources, identify treatment and recovery opportunities, support commercialization, and execute pilot trials.

• Identify, assess, and implement new technologies and processes, including collaboration with external partners (universities, research institutes, and technology providers).

• Establish and continuously improve laboratory capabilities, including process development and analytical methods to support R&D activities.

• Drive continuous improvement of existing operations through process optimization and introduction of alternative treatment methods.

• Ensure compliance with internal procedures, documentation standards, and all safety, health, and environmental requirements; maintain proper laboratory housekeeping.

• Support evaluation and development of handling procedures for high-risk and high-value waste streams.

• Contribute to new business development, including identifying opportunities, supporting new projects, and participating in facility planning and operations.

• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies and proactively introduce relevant innovations into the company.

  
  

Job Requirements:

• Ph.D in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with more than 5 years of experience in the area of specialty chemical manufacturing/applications, oil & gas or water treatment industry
