Besides start-up support and career mentoring for junior faculty, their Ph.D. students are funded by the school rather than paid from their research grants. SCIS faculty members are encouraged to collaborate on innovative research projects and also on integrative and interdisciplinary projects. SMU as well as Singapore government agencies, such as the National Research Foundation, provide generous support for high-quality research proposals.

A noteworthy example of our funded research is the Center for Research on Intelligent Software Engineering which conducts applied and fundamental research in the intersection of software engineering, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.  In the area of Cybersecurity, SCIS has a Centre on Security, Mobile Applications and Cryptography that conducts research into mobile device, cloud, and platform security.

Our Education. SCIS has more than 100 students enrolled in the Ph.D. in Information Systems and Ph.D. in Computer Science programmes. Ph.D. students can specialized in any of our computer science research areas, or in the Information Systems & Management research area.

Our Doctor of Engineering (EngD) programme, a Professional Doctoral Degree, aims to train students to become IT leaders with deep technical expertise for innovating, designing and managing complex IT systems.

SCIS also offers Master of IT in Business, a professionally oriented coursework programme, which has more than 400 active students. The programme supports a Financial Technology & Analytics track focusing on FinTech and the integration of Technology & Operations in Banking, an Analytics track focusing on applied analytics for business, consumer and social insights, an an Artificial Intelligence (AI) track that emphasises building AI-enabled business applications, as well as a Digital Transformation track that equips students to strategise and execute digital transformation in complex organisations.

Salary Range

The College of Integrative Studies (CIS) at Singapore Management University (SMU) invites applications for part-time instructors with a track record in excellent teaching at the tertiary level to teach Infrastructures of Experience in Global Asia in SMU’s Global Summer Programme (GSP).

This course should provide theoretical and practical perspectives on individual and collective experience in Global Asian cities. • Engage in student mentoring and academic advising to support student learning and development.

• Collaborate with faculty across disciplines on teaching and educational development projects.
• For Senior Lecturer appointments: provide academic leadership in teaching, mentoring of junior educators, or oversight of educational programs.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Biology, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching expertise in one or more of the following:
  - Neurobiology (e.g., systems, cellular, or cognitive neuroscience)
  - Neuropharmacology (e.g., drug–nervous system interactions, receptor signaling)
  - Biochemistry (e.g., neurotransmitters, synaptic proteins, enzyme kinetics)
• A strong commitment to teaching excellence and student-centered learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Experience in curriculum design, innovative pedagogy, or use of educational technology.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness, such as student evaluations, peer reviews, or teaching awards.
• Interest in or experience with education-focused research or scholarship of teaching and learning is advantageous.

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Psychology Lecturer with assessment credentials to join our academic team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering psychology-related modules and conducting professional assessments for students and/or children, particularly in areas related to developmental and educational psychology.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures in psychology and/or special education (e.g., Developmental Psychology, Educational Psychology, Behavioural Intervention)
• Conduct psychological and developmental assessments (e.g., cognitive, behavioural, learning assessments)
• Prepare professional assessment and evaluation reports
• Guide and supervise students’ assignments, projects, and case studies
• Participate in curriculum development and academic planning
• Support academic and administrative functions of the institution

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Must possess a valid assessment license / certification, such as:Registered Psychologist / Educational Psychologist, orCertified in psychological or developmental assessment tools
• Proven experience in conducting assessments (e.g., IQ tests, developmental assessments, behavioural evaluations)
• Prior teaching experience (adult education or higher education preferred)
• Familiarity with special needs conditions such as ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties is an advantage
• Strong communication skills in English (Mandarin proficiency is a plus)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in Singapore-based institutions (e.g., hospitals, EIPIC centres, or private intervention centres)
• Familiarity with assessment tools such as:WISC / WPPSIVB-MAPPABLLS-RPECS
• Background in ABA or Early Intervention
