POSITION OVERVIEW : Senior Data Engineer

POSITION GENERAL DUTIES AND TASKS :
As a Senior Data Engineer, you areresponsible for designing, developing, and implementing
scalable data store solutions that support both operational and strategicbusiness needs. The role demands strong technical expertise, a proactivemindset, and a commitment to continuousimprovement, compliance, and innovationin data engineering practices.
· Design, develop, and implement data storesolutions to support operational and business needs.
· Build and maintain robust ETL pipelines usingTalend and implement automated deployment
workflows for these ETL processes with CI/CD tools.
· Develop, optimize, and tune Oracle PL/SQL queries,procedures, and packages to ensure high
performance and reliability.
· Ensure data quality, integrity, and securityacross all data platforms.
· Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data workflowand performance issues proactively.
· Translate business requirements into effectivetechnical solutions, ensuring alignment
throughout the project lifecycle.

We are looking for people who
· Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in TalendETL development.
· At least 5 years of end-to-end experiencedesigning, building, and implementing data store/data
marts/data warehouses.
· Strong proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL development,including performance tuning and
optimization.
· Strong knowledge of key Oracle performancefeatures such as query optimizer, execution plans,
and indexes.
· Experience working with Oracle Autonomous Database(ADB) is preferred.
· Solid understanding of data modelling, datagovernance, and data integration best practices.
· Excellent technical skills in ETL tools forintegration with Oracle and other RDBMS databases.
· Good technical skills in UNIX shell scripting andscheduling.
· Have experience working in Agile environments withdistributed, cross-functional teams.
· Ability to evaluate, understand, and implementdetailed business, functional, and non-functional
technical requirements.
· Experience in the financial services industry isan advantage.

Requirements:

• Holds a Degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python or R for data analysis and automation.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Solid understanding of statistical analysis and analytical techniques.
• Experience in data cleaning, transformation, and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with databases and data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).

This role requires a highly self-motivated individual who is well organized and can manage time effectively. The role requires the talent to perform the following duties: 

Site Supervision and Coordination 

• Supervise daily site activities and ensure work is executed according to project specifications, plans, and safety regulations. 

• Coordinate with Project Engineer and subcontractors to ensure smooth progress of work on site. 

• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the quality of work and identify potential issues. 

Communication and Reporting 

• Maintain effective communication with the Project Engineer, customer representatives, and subcontractors. 

• Provide regular updates on site progress, issues, and concerns to the Project Engineer. 

• Assist the Project Engineer in preparing progress reports and other project documentation. 

Safety and Compliance 

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, site safety policies, and customer safety requirements. 

• Conduct regular safety briefings and toolbox talks for site personnel. 

• Report any safety incidents or concerns to the Project Engineer and relevant parties. 

Material and Equipment Management 

• Assist the Project Engineer in tracking and managing materials and equipment on site.

Quality Assurance and Control

Site Closure and Handover

Requirement

•  A minimum of 3 years’ experience as below is required:

• Maintenance & field support with relevance to industrial ACMV refrigerant systems

Other requirements:

• Higher NITEC in Control/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering is required.

• Strong planning, coordination & reporting skills.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, specifically thermodynamics & fluid mechanics an added advantage.

• Prior experience working in data center an added advantage.

• Prior experience in customer engagement.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and external partners.

• Strong analytical skills, systemic thinking, and reasoning, with an attention to detail.

• WSQ Workplace Safety and Health Management in Construction Industry - WSHM-CI, formerly BCSS.

Residency Requirement:

• The candidate must be based in Singapore, as this role requires 24/7 standby availability.
