What can you expect to do?

The Quality Engineer ensures product conforms to our customers’ requirements and assists with responding to customer concerns related to product quality in order to deliver exceptional experiences and outcomes.

You will be responsible for:

• Perform final quality control (QC) checks on inspected product to ensure it conforms to our customers’ requirements
• Provide training and technical support and assist with responding to customer concerns related to product quality
• Conduct internal QMS and ESD audit

In addition, you will:

• Review inspection results and, as needed, perform supplemental inspections on product to determine acceptability of product
• Document results of final QC checks in Velocity’s ERP system
• Communicate inspection findings to the Purchasing and Sales teams and advise on the actions necessary to resolve issues (if applicable)
• Coordinate with the Operations Manager to ensure Inspectors are performing inspections to standard
• Conduct inspection skills and technical trainings for quality inspectors
• Provide technical support to Sales and Purchasing Departments
• Assist the Quality Manager in Customer Corrective Action Request
• Perform other duties as requested by management

Job Responsibilities

A Quality Technician plays a critical role in ensuring product reliability, optimizing performance, and preventing future failures. This position requires a combination of technical knowledge, analytical skills, and hands-on practical experience to effectively identify, document and locate failures in an engineering system.

• Perform electrical and physical failure analysis (FA) on semiconductor substrates using a range of analytical tools to identify defect mechanisms and support root-cause investigations.
• Conduct sample preparation and execute FA workflows, translating findings into actionable insights for quality or engineering teams.
• Hands on experience to operate, maintain, and calibrate FA laboratory equipment, while supporting the development and optimization of analytical techniques and test recipes.
• Utilize advanced analytical techniques, such as FE-SEM, Ultrasonic imaging system FineSAT, Lock-in IR Thermography (ELITE) system and X-ray, to analyse substrate failures and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Engineering, Manufacturing and Inspection) and document results through failure analysis.

Job Requirements

Customer support:

• In the event of receiving a complaint or returns due to a quality defect at a customer, investigate the causes and contribute to an 8D reports to be submitted to the customer.
• Aggregate process control data according to a customer request and prepare its report.
• Additionally, compile a report on what is requested by a customer.

Process improvement:

• Analyze defective products generated in the process and implement appropriate measures according to the causes of the defect to reduce the amount of loss to be caused by the defect.
• Monitor process capability (Cpk, Ppk), investigate the causes for low process capability and implement measures to prevent deviation from the control standard.

Professional qualifications:

• Holding a diploma or ITE in engineering, manufacturing technology or associated fields.
• It is favorable (promising) if having experiences of similar roles in a failure analysis environment at a semiconductor related manufacturer.
• Having experiences of working as a failure analysis quality specialist or equivalent at a manufacturing plant is favorable.

Expertise and skills:

• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for document creation.
• A basic knowledge of quality management systems (IATF, ISO, etc.)
• A basic knowledge of environmental, health and safety (EHS) management systems.
• A basic knowledge with chemical regulations (laws, SDS, GHS).
• A basic understanding of business continuity plans (BCP).
• A basic understanding of statistical analysis methods using Minitab software.

Competency:

• Able to listen effectively and to act appropriately in response to instructions given.
• Able to report necessary information, such as problems and production progress, to managers.
• Capable of making recommendations for improvement plan to reporting manager.

Quality Engineer

Checking of wood panel and pvc edging under hot enviroment, need to help on loading and un loading weight about 20kg. Main job scope is after machine production ends the wood panel will be sent to your station for quality checking and packing, Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

Part A - Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Perform internal audits and to ensure organization is in compliance to internal processes and airworthiness regulatory requirements.
• Improve / enhance internal processes through scheduled / unscheduled /surveillance audits.
• Maintain and keep up-to-date Quality manuals and training records.
• Assist and perform external supplier audits.
• Assist in external airworthiness authority and customer audits.
• Follow-up with process owners to ensure prompt and appropriate corrective actions are duly completed.
• Monitoring open audit findings, including monitoring the execution and the intended effectiveness of the actions and the monitoring of corrective action plans.
• Liaise with customers / vendors / suppliers on non-conformance activities, perform root cause analysis and determine effective corrective actions to reduce or eliminate the cost of poor quality.
• Conduct internal briefing / training for certifying staff and technicians as necessary.
• Assist in maintaining the approved suppliers list.
• Processing and monitoring of company authorization renewal and applications.
• The maintenance of quality documents and systems such as QA Manuals and database management of the quality management system.
• Drive and promote Quality and Safety Culture and participate in QEHS and other shop initiatives as necessary.
• Liaise with customers / vendors / suppliers on non-conformance activities, perform root cause analysis and determine effective corrective actions to reduce or eliminate the cost of poor quality.
• To carry-out other QA functions as required.

Part B. Required Experience, Competencies & Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Engineering from an accredited polytechnic (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2-3years’ experience in aerospace quality (management) systems or a quality assurance role.
• Knowledge of aviation regulation such as Part 145 EASA, FAA, CASA, SMS and AS9100.
• Knowledge of and experience with aircraft / component (parts) maintenance.
• Internal auditor trained with auditing experience is preferred. 
• Proficiency with PC tools and software.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Being able to work independently and good analytical skills.
• Able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
