About the role
As a Data Insights Analyst, you will play a key role in enabling evidence‑based decision‑making across the University through high‑quality reporting, analytics and predictive insights. Working within a collaborative analytics team in Finance, you will partner closely with executive and senior leaders to understand business problems, shape analytical approaches and deliver insights that inform strategic and operational decisions.
The role focuses on delivering impactful business intelligence using tools such as Tableau and Power BI, alongside advanced analytics and predictive modelling using R or similar tools. You will translate complex data into clear, compelling insights for non‑technical audiences and act as a trusted advisor on data interpretation, availability and appropriate use.
You will work in agile, project‑based ways to implement analytics solutions that guide business decisions, collaborating closely with the Data Warehouse and Digital Solutions teams to define data requirements and ensure data is fit‑for‑purpose. The role offers a high level of autonomy and problem‑solving, with opportunities to innovate through automation and the practical application of AI to improve analytics capability and ways of working.
About you
- You will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in a quantitative, analytical or related discipline, or demonstrate equivalent professional experience.
- You will bring strong analytical capability, with experience delivering insights through business intelligence and analytics platforms such as Tableau and Power BI, and applying advanced analytics, statistical techniques or predictive modelling using R or similar tools.
- You will have a proven ability to translate complex data into clear, meaningful insights that support executive decision‑making, along with highly developed problem‑solving skills and the ability to work confidently with ambiguity.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and advisory skills are essential, as is a high level of self‑direction, accountability and initiative.
- An interest in innovation, automation and AI‑enabled analytics will be highly regarded.

Salary Range
HEW 7 Salary - Base range - $101,068.27 - $109,496.54 + 17% super. Full package range - $118,249.89 - $128,110.96.
