We are seeking accomplished and highly motivated Research and/or Senior Research Fellows to join an Industry Alignment Fund - Pre-Positioning (IAF-PP) grant-funded research programme in the laboratory of Assoc. Prof. Yen Choo at the LKC School of Medicine, Novena Campus, Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The research programme is focused on developing next-generation cell engineering technologies with applications in cell therapy, regenerative medicine and immunotherapy. The role sits at the interface of stem cell biology, genome engineering, and cell and gene therapies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and perform experimental work in human stem cell and immune cell engineering projects

• Apply cutting edge molecular and cellular biology techniques, HTS screening, genome engineering, single cell cloning, to develop and optimise engineered cell systems

• Perform bioprocessing, cell-based assays, FACS, multi-omics and analytical workflows to assess genetic modification, transgene expression, cellular phenotyping and functional assays

We are looking for a Research Engineer for the Architectures and circuits for pervasive 5G silicon chip connectivity with end-to-end system millimeter scale and 1,000X reduction in radio power consumption project led by Professor Massimo Alioto, at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).

The selected candidate is expected to:

•    Develop innovative circuit architectures for research projects and performing transistor-level design, simulation, and layout of analog, digital blocks and mixed-signal using industry-standard EDA tools.

•    Drive the silicon chip design through the full tape-out flow, including pre-layout and post-layout simulations, physical verification (DRC/LVS), and parasitic extraction.

•    Develop test plans, designing PCB test boards, and performing detailed silicon characterization and debugging using lab equipment.

What You'll Do
The Language and Social Cognition Lab at Singapore University of Technology and Design invite applications for a Research Fellow to join an interdisciplinary research project examining human-human and human-AI communication in multilingual/multicultural contexts, with a particular focus on senior adults in Singapore.  

This project examines how linguistic diversity, cultural norms, and aging shape communicative breakdowns and adaptations in interactions involving large language model (LLM)-based conversational agents. The candidate will conduct mixed-methods research, including interviews, behavioral experiments, discourse analysis of multilingual dialogue, and field user studies in local elder-care settings. The candidate will work closely with an interdisciplinary team across psychology, HCI, and AI, contributing to the evaluation of proactive AI companion agents with respect to cultural sensitivity, engagement, and usability.   

Who We're Looking For

• At least a PhD in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Communication Science, or related fields.

You will contribute to both research-driven and deployment-driven development across ROS 2, advanced simulation environments, and industrial robotic platforms.You will support applied R&D to develop, implement, and test robot learning algorithms that integrate motion planning, force/torque sensing, and multimodal perception. The role includes hands-on work in designing experiments, analysing results, building prototypes, and contributing to practical robotics solutions for advanced manufacturing. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (researchers, engineers, and industry partners) to bridge research with impactful industrial deployments in areas such as remanufacturing, automation, and smart manufacturing.

Roles & Responsibilities​

• Support applied R&D in robotic manipulation, focusing on robotics technologies for advanced manufacturing.​
• Assist in designing and conducting experiments to collect, process, and analyse experiment data.​
• Apply machine learning and deep learning techniques to improve robot control, adaptability, and decision-making in real-world scenarios.​
• Contribute to developing and testing functional prototypes and ROS-based robotics solutions for manufacturing applications.​
• Participate in the development and enhancement of ROS-Industrial capabilities for manipulation and embodied intelligence.​
• Support integration of perception tools (e.g., vision, force/torque) to enable better object handling and environmental interaction.​
• Stay updated with emerging robotics and AI methodologies, and assist in implementing state-of-the-art approaches to boost performance.​
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware/software engineers and researchers, to meet project milestones.​
• Support technical discussions, documentation, and engagement with industry stakeholders. 

Job Requirements​

• Bachelor or Master degree (fresh/recent graduates welcome) in Robotics, Computer Science,Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.​
• At least 2 years of experience
• Strong foundational knowledge in robotics fundamentals, including kinematics, dynamics, motion planning, and control.​
• Interest or exposure to robot learning, Learning from Demonstration, imitation learning, reinforcement learning, or Embodied AI concepts.​
• Proficiency in programming, especially Python and/or C++ ​
• Hands-on experience or strong interest in ROS/ROS2, simulation tools (e.g., Gazebo, Isaac Sim), and robotic hardware platforms.​
• Basic familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow is advantageous.​
• Understanding of sensors (vision, force/torque) and perception techniques is a plus.​
• Experience or interest in industrial automation, manufacturing environments, or contact-rich manipulation is highly desirable.​
• Good communication skills for teamwork, documentation, and presenting ideas/findings.​
• Passion for robotics, strong problem-solving mindset, and eagerness to learn and tackle real-world technical challenges in a collaborative, innovative environment.
