Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance applications using Java

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Role Overview

The Onshore IT Software Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, integrating, and maintaining application features across the frontend, backend, and database layers. The role involves leveraging modern development practices and AI-assisted tools to enhance delivery efficiency, code quality, and system reliability within a secure public sector environment.

Scope of Services

1. Application Development & Integration

Design, develop, test, integrate, and maintain application components across:

Frontend: Angular / modern JavaScript frameworks

Backend: Java Spring Boot

Database: MySQL

Build and enhance:

User interfaces (UI/UX components)

APIs Backend and business logic

Database schemas, queries, and stored procedures

Perform system integration with internal and external systems

Conduct defect fixing, performance tuning, and optimization

Provide deployment support across development, testing, and production environments

Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, consistency, and code quality

2. Testing & Quality Assurance

Develop and execute unit tests for both frontend and backend modules

Improve test coverage and edge case identification using AI-assisted techniques

Support integration and system testing activities

Ensure application quality aligns with project and regulatory standards

3. Code Quality & Security Compliance

Participate actively in code reviews

Ensure compliance with:

Authority coding standards

OWASP Secure Coding Practices

Job Responsibilities

Automation &Smart Warehouse

• Integrate IoT, RFID, vision AI, and AGVs/AMRs with enterprise systems.
• Support automation projects: e-lockers, pick-to-light, robotic arms, ensuringdata sync and reliability.
• Design secure IT/OT segmentation for remote monitoring and maintenance.
• Collaborate with vendors and integrators for interoperability and performance.

Application & Full-Stack Development

• Lead design and development of supply-chain apps: dashboards, asset tracking, workflows.
• Deliver IT solutions using modern stacks (React, Angular, Node.js, .NET,Python).
• Architect API integration across WMS, ERP, and automation subsystems.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud deployments.
• Evaluate low-code platforms (OutSystems, PowerApps) for rapid prototyping.

Digital Architecture & Strategy

• Maintain architecture across logistics, warehouse, and transport, bridging IT/OT/automation.
• Align tech roadmap with standards, data strategy, and business goals.
• Design hybrid-cloud using VCF, Azure, Data Factory, and API Management forinteroperability.
• Establish IT/OT governance and cybersecurity frameworks (ISO27001, SOC2, IM8).

Data & Analytics

• Build pipelines and event-driven architecture for Synapse, Power BI, and AIdashboards.
• Deliver analytics on throughput, fleet use, and automation uptime.
• Ensure data governance, consistency, and system integration.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Act as liaison across IT, Strategy, Ops Tech, Cybersecurity, and business units.
• Lead architecture reviews, PoCs, and vendor evaluations for automation tech.
• Mentor teams on coding standards, integration design, and secure deployment.
• Undertake assigned projects or duties as directed by Management.

Professional Qualifications & Relevant Experience

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7-10 years’ experience in IT architecture and software development; 
• Proven track record designing and integrating systems such as WMS, OMS, SAP, CMS and IoT/automation platforms.
• Familiar with PLC/WES/WCS, industrial communication protocols (Modbus, MQTT, OPC UA), and robotics integration.
• Cloud experience (Azure/AWS), containerisation, API security.
• Strong hands-on skills in .NET Core, Node.js, Java Spring, Python, React/Angular, REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Knowledge of data analytics and visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau) for supply chain KPIs.
• Certifications (ITIL, Azure Architect, CISSP) are advantages.
• Good Project Management knowledge
