Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Technology Architect with
deep experience in Private Banking to lead the modernization and digital
transformation of our core banking technology landscape. This role will play a
pivotal part in guiding the strategy and architecture roadmap as the firm
phases out legacy platforms (including AS400) and undertakes major
transformations such as the revamp of Trade Finance applications,
integration modernization, and adoption of next-generation digital
capabilities.
The ideal candidate brings strong architectural leadership,
hands-on modernization experience, and the ability to influence senior
stakeholders across business and technology.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Strategy
- Define
and own the technology architecture roadmap for Private Banking,
aligned with business priorities and modernization goals.
- Lead
the transition from legacy AS400-based systems to modern platforms,
ensuring scalable, secure, and future-ready technology choices.
- Architect
end-to-end solutions for the revamp of Trade Finance applications,
including workflow digitization, automation, and integration
modernization.
- Identify
and recommend modern solutions such as microservices, API-led
integration, cloud-native applications, event-driven
architectures, and low-code opportunities.
- Evaluate
and adopt modern technologies and frameworks to support digital
transformation.
Solution Design & Delivery
- Partner
with business, engineering, and operations teams to design robust, secure,
and compliant solutions.
- Provide
architectural oversight across the entire SDLC for key initiatives.
- Ensure
solution designs adhere to architectural standards, performance
requirements, and regulatory considerations.
- Review
existing systems and propose modernization or rationalization strategies.
Stakeholder Management
- Engage
and collaborate with senior business leaders, product owners, delivery
managers, and vendor partners.
- Present
architecture recommendations and technology strategies in a clear,
compelling manner.
- Influence
decision-making and ensure alignment across global and regional
stakeholders.
Governance & Best Practices
- Establish
and enforce architecture guidelines, patterns, and development best
practices.
- Conduct
design reviews and support teams in resolving architecture-related
challenges.
- Ensure
solutions are compliant with enterprise security, audit, and regulatory
requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise
- 14–15+
years of overall IT experience with at least 7+ years in
architecture roles.
- Strong
background in Private Banking / Wealth Management domain.
- Experience
modernizing legacy systems, preferably AS400 or similar core
banking platforms.
- Proven
architecture experience in:
Application
modernization
API
and microservices architecture
Cloud
migration (AWS/Azure/GCP preferred)
Integration
platforms (ESB, MQ, API Gateways)
Event-driven
systems
Enterprise
workflow solutions
- Hands-on
exposure to Trade Finance systems is a strong plus.
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Strong
analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to simplify complex
problems.
- Excellent
communication skills to influence and collaborate across business and
technology teams.
- Demonstrated
experience working with external vendors, platforms, and consulting
partners.
- Ability
to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple competing
priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience
in financial services digital transformation programs.
- Knowledge
of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to Private Banking.
- Certification(s)
in TOGAF, cloud architecture, or similar frameworks.
- Prior
involvement in end-to-end system decommissioning or platform migration
initiatives.
